The brainchild of founder Olof “the Enforcer” Wikstrand, Sweden’s heavy metal powerhouse ENFORCER took the underground metal world by storm with their debut four track demo in late 2005. Bored with “extreme” metal, unable to find like-minded souls yet refusing to compromise his vision, the multi-talented Olof took matters into his own hands.
Writing all original music The Enforcer entered the studio alone to record a four song demo, performing vocal, guitar, bass and drum duties with unique proficiency. The instantaneous buzz created by the one-man project reached half way across the world to New York’s Heavy Artillery Records who featured two tracks by ENFORCER on the 2007 “SPEED KILLS...AGAIN” sampler that also introduced the world to such bands as MERCILESS DEATH and WARBRINGER.
As the enthusiasm for this new project spread quickly throughout Scandinavia, Olof was encouraged to seek a full line-up. With founder Olof maintaining vocal and guitar duties, the line-up of Adam Saars on guitar, Joseph Tholl on bass and younger brother Jonas on drums materialized over the following months. Now a full band and able to gig, ENFORCER found themselves in demand. Opening their first gig in Stockholm for classic Swedish metal band Tryckvåg, ENFORCER was overwhelmed by the enthusiasm and support from the crowd. Bolstered by the intense and instantaneous favorable response, the band found themselves gigging heavily throughout Sweden, Norway, Germany, France, Belgium, Holland and England during the winter of 2007/2008. The band reached their next milestone performing in November 2007 at the prestigious KEEP IT TRUE festival in Germany to a crowd of 3000 enthusiastic headbangers. Now as a full gigging band and an unstoppable force to be reckoned with, ENFORCER were offered a deal and were signed to Heavy Artillery Records.
In March 2008 ENFORCER entered the studio to begin work on their debut album “Into the Night”. The consummate perfectionists that they are, the band spent the better part of the next six months recording the album, hardly seeing the light of day until they emerged from the studio with nine tracks of pure heavy metal thunder! Now finished recording and ready to conquer the world, ENFORCER have added guitarist Tobias Lindqvist to the line-up to enhance their live performance and allow frontman Olof to focus on vocal duties. With their new and improved line-up, ENFORCER performed to an enthusiastic crowd along side black/thrash legends Nifelheim at the FESTUNG OPEN AIR festival in Germany. Now scheduled to play ARVIKA festival, the second largest festival in Sweden, ENFORCER are setting their sites to follow the release of their album with a full European tour in early 2008.
