Lance King Bio:
Lance King (born November 23, 1962) is an American hard rock melodic metal vocalist working in the prog-power metal genre. Lance has sung with many bands in his career, including Freelance, Gemini, The Kings Machine, Defyance, Empire, Balance of Power, Pyramaze, Shining Star and Avian He is known for singing in a vibrato metal style with a wide vocal range spanning almost 5 octaves. Lance is a low tenor able to sing baritone and hi-tonor in full voice, and able to hit alto and low soprano notes as well.

In 1990, King founded the St. Paul, Minnesota, based Nightmare Records specializing in melodic hard rock and progressive power metal and has a large selection of "Positive Metal", Spiritual Metal" and "Christian metal" artists. He originally founded the label in order to get the music of his band Gemini out to the world. King is still the owner and head of Nightmare Records, and since its humble inception in 1990, it has grown to sell over 2.5 million albums to date.
Lance also did a short 3 years stint with Texas based group Krucible, writing and demoing up material and performing with them at Texas Madfest, the 2007, ProgPower USA Showcase in 2007. Rocklahoma 2008, Rock the Bayou Festival 2008 in Houston, Texas. But left to pursue his solo career because of very slow movement in this group.
Lance is currently promoting his first solo album, and plans to do a few key festival appearances in 2012.
King's hobbies include Thai style kickboxing (Muay Thai) Mixed Martial Arts, snowboarding and skiing, speed boating, rollerblading, camping, and of course, metal music. He is married with a son and a daughter, with whom he lives in Twin Cities, Minnesota.
