Things are moving. Continuously.
After a decade of agressive musical experiments, of doubts and accomplishments, of breaks and euphorias, the guys of MINUSHUMAN are steadily moving to the next step. The real deal is starting now.
Through their crushingly intense live shows and their aggressive, richly textured songs, French metal band MINUSHUMAN is a revelation. The group straddles the boundaries between death metal, thrash and rock and takes us through their unique, oppressive, chaotic universe, highlighting the dire state of the world for anyone willing to listen. The band's debut album, "Watch the World Die" (2008), mixed and mastered at Conkrete Studio, France (Otargos, Warattah, Eryn Non Dae, ...), was released to unanimous acclaim, and keeps garnering accolades from the press as it discovers it (Vs-webzine : 17/20, Selection Metalship : 4.9/5; Heavylaw : 9/10, etc). "This fiery, oppressive album is a major musical event the French metal scene was due to deliver for months" (DestinationRock). This one sentence says it all.
MINUSHUMAN's music is fluid and powerful, like a tidal wave threatening to break at any moment and swallow the dregs of a dying world. Influenced by the likes of Strapping Young Lad, The Haunted and Metallica, MINUSHUMAN stands on its own, different and unique.
Thomas Billerey (rhythm and lead guitar, songwriting), Cédric Moïse (vocals), Gaspard Jeanty Ruard (drums), Mickaël Desmarie (bass) and Lionel Bouyroux (rhythm guitar) hail from Bergerac, a small town in southern France anchored to the land and the ocean it lies between, where they constructed this peculiar universe of melancholy, rage and positive, inspirational thinking. They spent some tenish years crisscrossing the country under the moniker DARK POETRY, sharing the stage with other outstanding groups (Gojira, Loudblast, Samael, Crematory, Adagio, ...) and building a solid fan base in the underground metal scene through memorable live shows.
With the help of a new, efficient management service, Musica Diaboli, and with the support of its brand new label, Season of Mist, MINUSHUMAN is now set to spread its message across the world. A new album is planned for June 2011 and tours are in the pipeline. Stay tuned.
