Poisonblack Bio:

Oulu, Finland must be a miserable, extremely depressing place since the glorious days of the suicidal rockers Sentenced a pitch black shadow of suffering follows the musical steps of the band’s famous former vocalist Ville Laihiala who has not strayed a bit from this path in his current act POISONBLACK. The band’s new album “Of Rust And Bones” marks no exception…

After the phenomenal chart success of its predecessors “Lust Stained Despair” (2 in Finland) and “A Dead Heavy Day” (6 in Finland), POISONBLACK are ready to continue spreading their sonic poison and infect the masses with highly addictive dark rock hymns. Their fourth studio album, entitled “Of Rust And Bones”, was recorded with producer Hiili Hiilesmaa (HIM, Sentenced, Lordi, Amorphis) at NEOstudio and as the title suggests strives for an even rustier, grittier sound emphasising the band’s rocking roots as Ville confirms: “The main goal was, while recording, to have nothing more or less than 2 guitars, drums, bass and keyboards with vocals on top. Basically, record how we sound as a band. A lot of music was recorded "live” with everyone playing the song instead of Tarmo playing drums with only one guitar and a click track. A couple of songs were played totally naked. It’s amazing how you really get into your instrument and the song when you don’t have any clothes on... Hiili also played a big part in getting us in the right mood for each song. Lyrically the album is dealing with the uncontrollable craving for alcohol and boredom, frustration, hate, love and the fact that eventually everything will go down the drain."

Rounded off with striking artwork created by Teemu Hostikka, POISONBLACK’s new opus contains a barrage of catchy material like the opener “My Sun Shines Black” or “Buried Alive” while 7 to 8 minutes long epic tracks like “Down The Drain” or “The Last Song” expose new facets in the band’s trademark, guitar-driven sound.

After touring with labelmates Lacuna Coil for “Lust Stained Despair” and a European tour with Dark Tranquillity in 2008, the band will make sure to return to European stages soon and captivate you with the stunning new songs.

Fuelled by the band’s typically Finnish view on life, “Of Rust And Bones” offers intense and gloomy yet hard rocking songs that breathe honesty and misery in every single note. Topped off by the unique voice of Ville Laihiala “Of Rust And Bones” invites you all to take comfort in sorrow and drown in its depths…
