Suicide Silence Bio:
There is little doubt in anyone’s minds that SUICIDE SILENCE are one of the frontrunners of the new wave of American metal, a statement further validated as the group won the “Best New Talent” Award at the inaugural Revolver Golden Gods Awards, held at Club Nokia in Los Angeles on April 7th, 2009. The group was also hailed as the event’s breakthrough artist by the LA Times, but make no mistake that this extreme juggernaut is not resting on their laurels and are about to take things up a notch with their highly anticipated sophomore release, No Time To Bleed, which was produced by the acclaimed Machine (Lamb of God). This new effort promises to make their debut offering seem like easy listening.
The voracious No Time To Bleed provides a substantial wake up call to the masses giving today’s youth an outlet to vent their everyday frustrations. SUICIDE SILENCE can identify with their fans and know what struggles they face in today’s society. This new effort showcases a more mature band coming into their own, ultimately paving a new path throughout the metal genre unique all unto itself that can’t be replicated. This is the future of extreme music that is brutal, genuine and simply undeniable.
Mitch Lucker (vocals) states: “There is absolutely no doubt that this is our strongest effort to date. We’ve all grown quite a bit as musicians over the last few years. The last record was tracked in a live setting over a period of two weeks and this time around we’ve carefully crafted a record on an even larger scale with Machine’s services at the helm. This is a huge step in the right direction for us.”
As the inaugural Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival came to a close in the summer of 2008 there was no doubt in anyone’s mind that SUICIDE SILENCE emerged as one of the event’s breakthrough artists. The buzz from this tour ultimately became the launching pad for the band’s current success. The group struck a nerve with fans across the country who are hungry for sheer, unrelenting aggression that pummels the listener with an unabashed mixture of brutality, precision and technicality.
SUICIDE SILENCE are tireless road warriors as their 2007/08 worldwide touring campaign saw the band play over 200 shows across the globe with such acclaimed acts as Slipknot, Unearth, Behemoth, Nile, Parkway Drive and Underoath, among a slew of others. They kicked off 2009 the same way as direct support to the legendary Carcass that was immediately followed up with the lengthy “Music As A Weapon IV” North American tour alongside such genre titans as Disturbed, Killswitch Engage, Lacuna Coil and Chimaira, among others.
SUICIDE SILENCE’s critically acclaimed debut offering, The Cleansing, has SoundScanned over an impressive 75,000 units and was hailed by Alternative Press as “One of the 100 bands you need to know about.” Revolver further stated “The Cleansing was well worth the wait” as Metal Edge claimed that “The Cleansing is jammed packed with aggression and each song is overflowing with the belligerence and brutality that death metal fans yearn for.”
