Visions of Atlantis Bio:
Fascinated by the myths surrounding legendary Atlantis the band Visions of Atlantis was formed in 2000. After finishing the first demo-CD it took less than a year before the band found in „Black Arrows / TTS“ a Label to release the first full-length Album „Eternal Endless Infinity“ all over Europe and later throughout the whole world including countries like Japan, Mexico, Brasil, the US and more. Starched through the positive resonances the band was able not only to tour with bands like Lacuna Coil, Nightwish or Edenbridge but also play festivals across Europe, Latin America and Asia, like on the Busan Rock Festivals in front of more than 20000 spectators. In Summer of 2003 the male singer Mario Plank joined Visions of Atlantis who is still giving distinction to the whole VoA-sound with his throaty but still very melodic voice whilst the band was signing a new record-deal with the well-known Austrian label Napalm Records, which released the band`s second offering „Cast Away“ worldwide in November 2004. Parallel to this release the band also showcased the first official music video for the song „Lost“ which got airplay on VIVA and MTV and made it possible for Visions of Atlantis to present the Album together with the band Epica on their first European Tour many old and new fans. In 2005 and 2006 the band was working hard on new song-material, besides playing several gigs for instance together with Elis, Nightwish or Edenbridge. In May 2007 the third Album „Trinity“ was then released by Napalm Records. The artwork was designed by already well-known artist Anthony Clarksson, who had already made his mark within the metal-scene through working for Exodus or Blind Guardian for instance. The following autumn led Visions of Atlantis to the United States where the band toured together with Epica for 6 weeks and won many new fans over before several hanges within the line-up of the band where necessary. But the remaining members continued their work and in 2008 and 2009 Visions of Atlantis not only looked intensely for a new female Voice after Melissa Ferlaak (ex-Aesma Daeva, Echoterra) had left the band but also wrote the song-material for the fourth album „DELTA“ which finally will be released worldwide via Napalm Records by the end of february 2011. With the extraordinary greek female vocalist Maxi Nil, who had already worked with Moonspell or her former band Elysium before, the band was completed again and Maxi Nil`s great voice gave the new material a unique touch. As already with Trinity Visions of Atlantis again entered the Dreamsound Studios in Munich (Germany) in the middle of 2010 to record the trinity-successor under the upervising eyes of the producing team consisting of Mario Lochert (VoA Bass, Emergency Gate) and Jan Vacik. After months of hard work within the studio „DELTA“ was finalized in November 2010! Not only the orchestral arrangements which where elaborated to the last detail together with the powerful and diverse guitar-work and the vocals enthroned above the tracks make "DELTA" to a perfect mix between already existing trademarks of the band combined with new courageous elements. The result offers also a great variety which still sounds homogenous packed into a tight Album. Visions of Atlantis are finally back with an overwhelming strong Symphonic-Metal-Blast which will not only let the hearts of Symphonic-Metal Fans beat faster but also attract a big number of metal-fans in general for sure!
