We Butter The Bread With Butter Bio:

Do not be fooled by We Butter The Bread With Butter. This German quartet is far from a comedic metal band. Explains founding member/guitarist Marcel Neumann, “When we were forming the band, the overall metal landscape was rife with morose imagery and nihilist lyrics. While we play music influenced by metal, our personalities certainly don’t echo the negative worldview that dominates the scene. Our name reflects our humor, not our musical style. I want to make it clear we are NOT a joke band.”
This is evident on the band’s forthcoming EP, titled the Projekt Herz EP, where fairy tales influence several songs. “We don’t usually have a central theme to our overall albums, but re-occurring subjects that inspire us includes writing about dreams and wishes,” says Neumann. “Several songs on the new release are inspired by fairy tales as metaphors for real life experiences in relationships.” Musically, We Butter The Bread With Butter view themselves as a heavy rock band utilizing the technical harmonics of metal and the hooks of electro-pop, which shines through tracks such as “Mayday Mayday” and “USA.”
The band hopes that the EP, which is their first release since 2010’s full-length effort Der Tag an dem die Welt unterging, prepares their loyal fan-base for their evolution. Neumann explains “We view the EP as a bridge between our previous work and where we are going on our next album. There’s a notable progression to it, but it’ll still serve as a touchstone for long-time fans,” explains Neumann. “In the three years between releases, we’ve had so many new influences and grown so much as song writers, we feel to release our full-length without the EP would come as a big shock to those who followed us thus far.”
Despite the band having NEVER set foot on U.S. soil or releasing a CD in America, the band’s spirit of youthful wonder and positivity connects with many Americans. Der Tag an dem die Welt unterging, even managed to crack the iTunes Top 50 in 2010 without a proper domestic release. Bassist Maximilian Pauly (simply referred to as Max by friends) confirms this saying “most of our t-shirt and merch sales
