Your Chance To Die Bio:

Your Chance to Die is a melodic death metal band from South Carolina. Playing together since 2007, they have developed an unique sound which blends traditional death metal with beautiful melodic interludes. YCTD sports a group of talented musicians coming from a range of influences from power metal to southern thrash metal. Missi Avila (vocals) leads the band, proving that female death metal vocals can be just as brutal as the opposite gender. Coca Avila and Chase Crouch (guitars) carry the band through ear catching leads and harmonizing riffs. Daniel Todd (drums) has been with the band since its early beginnings and is making a name for himself as one of the best metal drummers in the genre. Stephen Sanchez (bass), newly added to the band has added extra depth and talent to YCTD in just a few short months. In 2011 Your Chance to Die released it’s first official album with Red Cord Records entitled ‘Suscitacio Somnus’, recorded and produced by Jamie King (Between the Buried and Me, The Human Abstract, For Today) This full length album has received very strong reviews and has topped Itunes and FYE stores as best selling metal album in its first week. The official video for the song ‘Requiem for the Blessed Damned’ has also been released through Red Cord Records. This video received almost 2000 views in its first week on YouTube. Both the album and video continue to gain momentum as more and more fans are catching on to YCTD. They are a very hard working band and have a strong fan base in the southeastern United States. They have opened for bands such as Born of Osiris, Wretched, iwrestledabearonce, Beneath the Sky, Emmure, Woe of Tyrants, and many more. YCTD has played two national tours and currently have an international tour to Central America/Mexico booked for 2012 where just one show already has over 400 RSVPs to the event. YCTD is busy promoting their new album through local shows and is looking to become a supporting act for national tours which are being booked. YCTD brings energy and passion to the stage and would be a strong opener for any tour. Curious fans always stay to hear this female fronted death metal band, and always leave impressed and begging for more. As Outburn magazine stated ‘this band is one to look out for, for years to come!’

Here is what reviewers have to say about Your Chance to Die:

‘Some very fun blasts, off-time breaks and fills, and gallops make the record very fun to listen to. Missi’s growl evokes pain and doom, in a most effective manner. There are hauntingly beautiful melodies, because the guitarists clearly know what they’re doing.’ The New Review

‘..she brings on the rage just as well, if not better, than some male front men. The sound of the band is built on a sturdy groundwork of screeching guitars and the double pedal bass drum styling’s of Daniel Todd. The nine-track album, energetic from start to finish, is filled with whaling guitar solos and heavy breakdowns that will snap your neck.’ Lexington Music Press Magazine

‘What you have here is a band…a band that makes it work. The vocals are straight. When listening, you forget the whole female aspect and just listen to the music for what it is. And what it is, is a brutal assault of melodic death metal.’ Buried Sound
