Since it's inception, Eclipse Records has been a front-runner in the national music scene. Founded in 1997 by music distribution executive Chris Poland, Eclipse began releasing a highly successful series of compilation CDs entitled "Metal Underground". Eclipse's first band it actually signed however was Disarray from Nashville, TN. Soon after, Eclipse went on to work with bands such as Pissing Razors, Boiler, The Step Kings, and Dog Fashion Disco. In 2000 Eclipse Records discovered and signed Cleveland, Ohio's MUSHROOMHEAD and released their debut national album entitled XX. At that time, Eclipse exploded onto the global scene as a heavyweight independent record label and has remained on the forefront ever since. By employing cutting edge marketing & promotion techniques, having built an extensive network of industry connections in all sectors from radio, retail, and touring, to management, publishing, print, web, and television media, to the most organized street team promotion network, STREETTEAM.COM, Eclipse Records has established a highly successful track record matched only by the major labels.
