Swedish viking metal band Amon Amarth have announced the title and revealed the artwork for their upcoming album. The upcoming album is titled Deceiver of the Gods and is set for release June of 2013 via Metal Blade Records. Deceiver of the Gods will be the bands eighth studio album and is a follow up to the bands 2011 Sutur Rising.

The album was produced by Andy Sneap of Arch Enemy, Exodus and Megadeth fame. The band explained why they chose to go with Sneap here: “We were looking for a change, and Andy has been in our thoughts for some years now. After meeting with him, we felt a good connection. We think this is going to be a ripper.”
The band also had the following to say about the album artwork: “The cover depicts the last battle between the Gods and Loki who arrives at Vigridr field accompanied by the army of the dead during Ragnarok, the end of the world.”
