Wow, this has been a crazy couple of weeks for Black Sabbath. First of all, Tony Iommi has cancer. Supposedly he’s doing better, but he still has cancer and that’s not good. Then Birmingham announces Black Sabbath Day (which is apparently officially happening) and Bill Ward threatens to leave the band, all within a couple of days. Now Black Sabbath has announced that they plan to continue the reunion and new album without Bill.
Bill Ward recently stated that he would not work with the band until presented with a contract he felt was fair. So, the rest of the band has decided they will record and tour without him. Rumors are circulating that Tommy Clufetos may be stepping in but nothing is official as of yet. Hopefully everyone realises that they have been friends for infinity, are already rich, very old, and oh yeah, Tony has cancer. Oh right, and you helped start heavy metal. That way they can settle their differences in time for the album and play together one more time.

“We were saddened to hear yesterday via Facebook that Bill declined publicly to participate in our current Black Sabbath plans … we have no choice but to continue recording without him although our door is always open … We are still in the UK with Tony. Writing and recording the new album and on a roll…”
