While Victory Record‘s Broadside are a lot catchier than most of what we cover over here on the heavy side of the scene, the power poppin’ punk band have loads of heart. In this time of heroes like Bowie, Lemmy and our old Hogwart’s teacher Severrus Snape passing on to Valhalla, even us gruff metalheads can use a little tearjerky with our beef, um, jerky? Anyway…check out the uplifting and reflective, wistful new motivational emo-heavy anthem HERE.

The press release states: Their ode to self-preservation faces the question of life and death, and analyzes a reflective conversation in the mind of vocalist Ollie Baxxter. “’A Light In The Dark’ is an inner monologue of questioning my self-worth, and essentially my strong desire to overcome negativity and be successful,” the vocalist explains.
