Swedish satanic mystery metal group Ghost have been signed to Seven Four Entertainment, reportedly for an advance in the neighborhood of $750,000. This is apparently a new label formed by ex-Warner Brothers exec Tom Whalley and is part of the Universal Republic family. There’s not much info around about Seven Four and there’s a Myspace page for what looks to be a defunct hip-hop label that goes by the same name, so this may be their first signing.
Ghost recently wrapped up a North American tour where they opened for Mastodon and Opeth and no doubt earned quite a few new fans and probably some leverage with contract negotiations.
