Hey metal twerps. Let me interrupt my dayquil and seltzer gulping enhanced binge skimming of The Stand out of hopefully unfounded fears that my sniffle is the coronavirus to tell you about another form of viral mayhem, the pending split release album between fringe moon barkers CHROME WAVES and GRIDFAILURE. This release is a historic one in both general music terms and Metal Riot history in that it is the first time two bands who I have corroded fan stickers of on my acoustic guitar are doing a split album together. But it is cool for other reasons as well!
Each act offered up several originals and a cover apiece to create maximum pleasurable unease.
Both the CHROME WAVES and GRIDFAILURE songs were mastered by Dan Emery at Black Matter Mastering in Nashville, Tennessee (Kool Keith, Benjamin Tod, Krieg). David Brenner designed the cover artwork utilizing photos from Jeff Wilson and himself.
The split album will see digital release via both acts Bandcamp pages on March 27th with a limited physical version to follow. Watch for audio premieres, preorders, and more to post in the coming days.
