Bergen, Norway’s annual Hole in the Sky Metal Festival has announced the first bands for 2011. Sweden’s Marduk and Ghost, and Negative Plane from Florida are the first acts to join the bill after some delay due to settling on festival venues. It is now confirmed that HITS will carry on with the same setup as before – two days at the Garage club, finishing off with two days at USF. The festival will take place August 24 – 27, 2011. Tickets are now on sale.
The Hole in the Sky festival was founded in 2000 in memory of the late Erik “Grim” Brødreskift (Immortal, Gorgoroth, Borknagar) and continues to rank as a “best of” year after year by metal journalists and fans alike.
More bands are to be announced soon.
