American power metal act Iced Earth have officially entered the studio to begin work on their 10th studio album. The album, set to be released on Century Media, will be a return to the old sound that fans of the band have come to love.
Jon Shaffer, the band’s frontman, says, “I can tell you from the riffs and the attitude behind it,” he said, “this is going to be a bad-ass record. This is inspired, focused, and to the point. This is really heavy stuff. It’s a kick in the nuts. People probably think I don’t have it in me any more. But they’re going to be proved wrong about that. I can tell you this: we’re coming back with a vengeance. We’re out for blood.”
The band’s latest release, “The Crucible Of Man,” was released in 2008.
