Swedish melodic death metal legends In Flames have completed recording their tenth studio album entitled “Sounds of a Playground Fading.” Recording started in October of 2010 in Gothenbburg at IF studios, the same studio where their last album, “A Sense of Purpose,” was recorded. “Sounds of a Playground Fading” will be available on Nuclear Blast in May/June 2011. Taken from their facebook page, In Flames comments: “Album is done boys and girls. Mixing is taking place right now and we are very happy with the result/IF.”

This album also marks the departure of founding guitarist Jesper Strömblad, who left the band to cope with addiction and better manage personal problems. He left In Flames in February of 2010 and no permanent  replacement has been named.

In Flames has a busy summer ahead. They are appearing at Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park festivals in Nurburgring, Germany, Nova Rock in Austria and, Sonisphere Festival in Knebworth, UK.
