In a recent interview with Made in America, Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament revealed that the band is “halfway through” making what will be their tenth full-length record. He states:
“We’re halfway through. We have a ton of ideas. It’s just a matter of… everybody clearing enough space to finish it up. The great thing at this point is we’re not really in a hurry to do anything. We kind of do things as naturally as we can.”

Pearl Jam last released Backspacer in 2009 on Monkeywrench Records. No release date for their new record has been set and it’s unclear whether it will affect drummer Matt Cameron’s commitments with Soundgarden, who are set to release their new album King Animal on November 13th.
