In a recent interview with HotPress.com, Thin Lizzy guitarist Scott Gorham revealed that the band has tapped Kevin Shirley (Iron Maiden, Dream Theater, Journey) as the producer for their first studio album in nearly 30 years. Scott states:
“I’ll be going out to Los Angeles at the end of the month to work on some songs with Damon and then I think we will start recording in October in our producer Kevin Shirley’s studio.”
Then he adds, “We are all excited about the new record but especially Ricky and Damon, they just can’t wait to start recording! You have got six guys there that are chomping at the bit that can’t wait to get this thing going.”
The new Thin Lizzy album will not only be their first album since 1983’s Thunder and Lightning, but their first release without vocalist/bassist Phil Lynott, who died in 1986.
