After using Andy Sneap on 2009’s Endgame, Megadeth has decided to switch gears in the production chair for their upcoming untitled album, due out on Roadrunner Records sometime this year. Johnny K will be taking over mixing duties, and his work with Sevendust, Disturbed, Finger Eleven, Drowning Pool, and more has garnered much press and a few Grammy nominations.
Andy Sneap commented on not being able to produce the new Megadeth album, after handling the prior two:
“I’m doing another project that I also play guitar in called Hell and we’re doing some summer festivals this year so it kind of cut into the whole schedule that was planned with Megadeth.”
Megadeth bassist David Ellefson had this to say about the change:
“We are working on it now so it’s a bit early to encapsulate what the final will ultimately sound like”
