Wisconsin metalcore band Serianna have released the music video for their cover of “Lose Yourself” which was originally performed by rap artist Eminem. The video was filmed while the band was on tour by director and close friend Sam Link (Sleeping With Sirens, Decoder). You can check out the video right here.
Singer and lyricist Chris Nutting commented on the video:
“This video was seriously so fun to make with Sam Link. He had so many great ideas for this video that it couldn’t have turned out any better. We literally drove around some small town in Pennsylvania looking for a great place to film, and found some run down storage facility that looked perfect. This was our first performance/ acting video so we really weren’t sure what to expect, but it turned out great and we had a good time filming it.”
Guitarist and songwriter Kris Meyer-Ruef added:
“Lose Yourself has become a hip hop classic and has cemented itself as a timeless hit. It presented a challenge for us in two ways, 1. Making sure we stay true to the classic but, 2. Finding a way to put an innovative twist on it and keep it metal! The lyrics are simple, powerful and applicable to all genres of music, or even life in general. Go for your dreams, lose yourself in them, but realize they come true through dedication and perseverance.”
