Nonpoint ink deal with Metal Blade

Nonpoint are a band who manage time and again to keep evolving, prove naysayers wrong and (especially) bring it hard live.  Lots of my friends know I am especially obsessed with their track “Throwing Stones”, which should have been a huge hit. This is one of those bands who can appeal to rock radio without sucking and yet who also tour like crazy and keep their egos and feet planted in the underground they came from.  They may not be super evil and have some “mainstream” fans but are you really so one dimensional as a person that you need to only listen to gore metal, people? Get some groove in your mix!

Today was a good day (cue Ice Cube music). Just ate lasagna. Rocked out to Hull’s The Legend Of Swamp Goat. Then I got the press release for this Nonpoint signing  to Metal Blade and got stoked. It wouldn’t be normal to not see these guys in some incarnation hitting stages hard when the weather gets warmer.

This is a dream situation for us. Just getting an offer from Metal Blade. We’ve always needed a team behind us outside of the U.S. It’s a great feeling knowing you now have the best team possible.” says Elias Soriano, the band’s vocalist.

Drummer Robb Rivera comments: “We are excited to not only get THE worldwide label of labels to release our album outside of the US, but to be part of a family now that has pretty much set the bar for metal releases for 30 plus years. Needless to say, extremely excited to be able to get our music to the fans outside of the US through the team that helped launch Metallica.”

Brian Slagel of Metal Blade Records adds, “All of us at Metal Blade are happy to welcome Nonpoint to the Metal Blade family. We are excited to work with them and the bit of new material I heard sounds great!!”

Nonpoint’s eighth full-length album is scheduled for release this Fall. Be prepared to watch them destroy and dominate stages now on a worldwide scale and convert droves of overseas fans now thanks to the support of Metal Blade Records.
