Heavy metal icon Ozzy Osbourne spent part of his 64th birthday yesterday recording vocals on the long-awaited new Black Sabbath record, which will be their first release with him in more than 30 years. A photo of Ozzy in the studio laying down tracks on the new record can be seen here.

The new Sabbath album doesn’t have a release date, but it’s supposed to be out next year. Not only will it be the first album under the Black Sabbath name since 1995’s Forbidden, but it’s also their first with Ozzy on vocals since 1978’s Never Say Die.
