Iowa masked ambassadors Slipknot have released a new song for streaming called “The Negative One”, a real thrash and basher that hearkens back to their first album’s insanity with a bit less nu in the metal. Corey sounds pretty darn peeved in this one and the whiplash riffing and grooves you’d expect are all there, though the drumming is noticeably less awesome than when Joey was in the band.
You can unlock the track at the official website HERE. Maggots everywhere weep tears of blood.
This will be on Slipknot’s pending fifth album and the only one to not feature deceased bassist Paul Gray or fan favorite Joey Jordison, who was asked to exit the band last year.
