Spinal Tap frontman David Ivor St. Hubbins (Michael McKean) struck by car in New York

In a bit of sad news, Michael McKean the singer of Spinal Tap was just recently hit by a car!  Mckean is 64 years old and has recently been performing in the Broadway show The Best Man.  He was hit while out for a stroll in New York City’s upper west side, and yes that is a picture of him on a spinal board.

Reportedly Mckean is suffering from a broken leg but is alright and will be forced to miss his remaining shows.  Apparently this is the first time he has ever missed any kind of performance so this must be one hell of a ball bust for him.  He’d probably feel much worse if he wasn’t under such heavy sedation. (zing!)

If you don’t know who Mckean is, you aren’t a real metalhead.  He played David Ivor St. Hubbins, the lead singer and rhythm guitarist in the mockumentary “This Is Spinal Tap” that you should have seen at least 100 times by now.
