Band Spotlight

The Resurrection Sorrow

One of the very best bands carrying the torch for a viable hard rock and metal scene in New York City these days is The Resurrection Sorrow. Along with bands like DeMilitia and God’s Green Earth, they are helping make the Big Apple slightly less hipster friendly. Live, this onslaught of some of the loudest riffing you’re likely to ever encounter onstage is combined with roaring melodies and horror poetry of front man (and comic book scribe) Alex Dementia. This band is still at “best kept secret” status but have been kicking down doors with serious touring, good time attitudes and the monolithic and dark riff majesty of their recent HOUR OF THE WOLF release (which came complete with spooky Seldon Hunt cover art). Highly recommended for fans of everything from Down and Danzig to Ufomammut and Motorhead. Alex even occasionally has been known to stomp through venue floors!
