I have no idea if this has to do with the Minions film coming out, but Torche’s “Minions” (their first new stuff in two years) is a sludge pop delight of huge guitars and big, semi-spoken melodic undertones. The band’s newest can be heard BELOW and proves that rock n roll has quite the pulse still. The Torche dudes’ RESTARTER can be preordered HERE.
From this to the recent Floor release, it’s been a gooey delight fest of fuzzy riff bombs lately for Steve Brooks fans.
Track listing for RESTARTER plus tour dates with my fave band Clutch and their groovy Jam Room style disciples Lionize are also below along with the new song, HERE.

Restarter track list:
- Annihilation Affair
- Bishop in Arms
- Minions
- Loose Men
- Undone
- Blasted
- No Servants
- Believe It
- Barrier Hammer
- Restarter
The album was recorded at the band’s Miami studio, Pinecrust, with bass player Jonathan Nuñez overseeing production and Converge’s Kurt Ballou once again returning to handle mixing. In discussing the band’s approach to writing and recording Restarter, Nuñez shared his thoughts on the band’s musical evolution: “I feel that with time you kind of expand and hopefully progress. Hopefully this record is a good reflection of that. I feel it’s strong sonically and harder hitting than the previous record [Harmonicraft]. I’m happy with the last record, but I feel on this record, it’s just more solid song to song. You’ve got to move forward. You can’t release the same record over and over.”
