Back in January we told you about the passing of one of Wacken‘s most known and beloved icons, “Grandpa” Willi Schäl. You can click here to read the original story and see some pictures of Willi doing what he loved.
Well it seems that the outpouring of concern and compassion for the lovable trumpet player and marmalade salesman has caused the crew at Wacken to set up a memorial collage wall.
It will be located in the same spot that Willi greeted everyone year after year, and they are encouraging anyone with pictures of “Grandpa” Willi to please hang them on the wall. The collage and any other memorial souvenirs will eventually be given to his remaining family.
There is still more info to be released, so please check back for updates.
