In what can only be described as an act of pure metal altruism, Singaporean grindcore powerhouse, Wormrot, and the band’s label Earache Records, have decided to release the former’s upcoming album “Dirge” as a free download.

Earlier today Earache Records released a press statement saying that the album had already been leaked on the internet and in order to prevent viruses and malware from being spread through unofficial sources offering up the album for download, Wormrot and Earache Records would rather pre-release the album themselves. “We realised that all you grinders were so excited for more ‘Abuse’ with “Dirge” that it’s leaked, so we said ‘what the fuck, here it is’ – for you free in MP3 format to download right now,” Wormrot announced in the press statement, adding “Get a t-shirt while you’re at it you fucking cheapskates!

Whether this is some kind of shrewd marketing attempt or just plane old Santa Claus-style generosity, fact of the matter is you can download the album directly from Earache’s website (click here to get your hands on it).

The album will still be released on CD and vinyl on May 3 as planned and is the follow-up to Wormrot’s highly acclaimed grindcore tour de force, “Abuse”, which was reissued last year on Earcache.
