Swedish rockers Ghost released a lyric video for their song “Faith” earlier this week.

Ghost’s “Ultimate Tour Named Death” North American headline arena tour starts on September 13 in Bakersfield, CA and will see an expanded theatrical production, a striking stage set resembling a medieval cathedral with a backdrop of illuminated stained-glass windows. In addition to rich costumes, special effects, and a spectacular light show tailor-made for arenas, the Cardinal, the Ghouls and the Ghoulettes will take advantage of series of multi-level platforms and walkways to prowl around on while performing some of Ghost’s fan-favorite songs from the band’s albums and EPs catalogs. The set list will include fan-favorites “Square Hammer,” “Cirice,” “Ashes,” “He Is,” “Year Zero,” Rats,” “Mummy Dust, “Life Eternal, “Dance Macabre,” and “Faith.”

Enforced stream “Reckoning Force” over at BrooklynVegan

Virginia Thrashers Enforced released their latest track “Reckoning Force” over at BrooklynVegan earlier this week.

“Reckoning Force” comes off the band’s upcoming album At The Walls which will be released via WAR Records on July 19.

Enforced’s At The Walls LP features a remixed and remastered version of the 2017 demo and their “Retaliation” promo, and introduces two brand new songs to the mix. All tracks were recorded by Bob Quirk and mixed and mastered by Arthur Rizk (Power Trip, Cavalera Conspiracy, Candy), and the album’s cover art was created by Dwid Hellion (Integrity, Psywarfare) who makes a guest appearance on the track “Skinned Alive.”

Of “Reckoning Force,” Enforced vocalist Knox Colby states, “The lyrics mull about the effects of opening old wounds with friends and family for pride or over disagreements. A few lines hypothesize the idea of throwing everything away just to win an argument, leaving you isolated and bitter only to be crushed by an unforeseen force.”

On the songwriting for the track, guitarist Will Wagstaff offers, “This song was partially written with Isaac (Hullinger) on drums, and partially written with new drummer Alex (Bishop). We wrote most of the fast riffs with Isaac and then kind of put the solo part and intro together with Alex. I remember we modified the fast riff a bit once we had written the intro. We wanted to kind of have a ‘Pull The Plug’ (Death) style vibe during the intro and then bust into the fast riff. Both this song and ‘Skinned Alive’ definitely represent somewhat of a transition stylistically pushing into a more death-thrash direction where we’re going to be featuring more double bass parts, more intricate guitar play and thrashing slam riffs.”

Asking Alexandria release new track “The Violence”

Posted by longhairedpoet on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 4:59 PM (PST)

Earlier this week English rockers Asking Alexandria released their latest track “The Violence.”

Complete with a cheesy zombie movie music video that features the boys in the band, the track is the first new track since the band’s 2017 self-titled album.

The music video was written and directed by Jensen Noen and presented by Scissor Films and Sumerian Films. The video follow the plight of every day zombies: Cocaine Shane (Danny Worsnop), Peter (Ben Bruce), Disco Luke (Cameron Liddell), Phat Noah (James Cassells) and Waterboy Eric (Sam Bettley).

Says guitarist Ben Bruce:

“We are back bigger, better, louder and more insane than ever before. This single encompasses everything we have been working towards. Huge guitars, anthemic drums and some of the catchiest, most technically accomplished vocals that Danny has ever delivered, and this is only just the beginning.”

Worsnop adds:

“The Violence was an incredibly rewarding song to create. Ben and I both got to go way outside anything we’d done before and create something fresh and engaging. Thematically the song is about the way mainstream media and politicians manipulate and spread mistruth amongst the people to encourage and create anger, fear, division, and conflict in their quest to control and acquire power. As the history books have shown, this only goes so far before the people stand up and say enough is enough. I hope everyone enjoys what we’ve created here, we had a great time making it, and even more fun shooting the video!”

Asking Alexandria are headed out on the road later this month with Papa Roach and Bad Wolves on the “Who Do You Trust” US Summer Tour. Then in September Asking Alexandria will join Shinedown, Papa Roach, and Savage After Midnight on another North American tour.

In Mourning prepare to release new album

Posted by longhairedpoet on Friday, June 28, 2019 at 10:41 AM (PST)

Swedish metallers In Mourning are preparing to release their latest album Garden of Storms.

Garden of Storms is due out October 4 via Agonia Records and will be the follow up to 2016’s Afterglow.

The band commented on the new album:

“We made a new album! It’s called The Garden of Storms ans it is the final piece in a trilogy which started with The Weight of Oceans. We’ve headed back.. and forward, at the same time. We’re back recording with Jonas Kjellgren who made the sound of our earlier albums, yet we have a lot of things that are new with this album. The band constellation is new with Sebastian and Jocke, we’ve worked in ways we’ve never done before, new vibes and new songs even if we planted the seeds to some of them a long time ago. In times where things kind of seem to scatter and change a lot around us, this still feels like our most solid, honest and complete album to date.”

In Mourning will be heading out on tour in October in support of the album. Check out those tour dates plus album art here.

Napalm Death European 2019 Summer Tour Dates

Posted by Morgan Ywain Evans on Monday, June 24, 2019 at 11:55 AM (PST)

UK Grindcore pioneers NAPALM DEATH are currently working on a new studio album to follow up 2015’s acclaimed Apex Predator – Easy Meat effort as well as 2018’s Coded Smears And More Uncommon Slurs compilation release. NAPALM DEATH have just announced their next European tour run for the summer, a tour run in Russia in September, as well as a return to North America in October with Municipal Waste and label-mates Sick Of It All.

NAPALM DEATH’s frontman Mark “Barney” Greenway states about the upcoming tour, “The stinky van is calling again, and this summer looks to me like we’re reaching more parts of Europe than we have done in quite a few summers. Macedonia in July looks to be one that sticks out, as I recall that our last gig there was in the midst of the miserable Balkans war – it was that long ago. On another note, I know people are probably wondering about the next album. It is coming, we promise. Unforeseen circumstances and the kind of recurring touring schedule you see in front of your eyes have conspired to string it out quite a bit. It’s gonna be a multi-faceted rasper though, I think. Some nice ‘n’ quirky cover songs too. All will be revealed soon – just getting on with artwork and last couple of lyrics and all the usual window dressing. Alongside that, if it comes off, a nifty associated split release with a very-definitely-not-grindcore band is in the planning, which will neatly skip around convention and stereotype. And why not. Cheers all.”

Below is a list of all upcoming dates for NAPALM DEATH, kicking off with next week’s appearance at Germany’s Full Force festival.

Guns N’ Roses announce 8 new US Tour Dates

Posted by Morgan Ywain Evans on Monday, June 17, 2019 at 7:08 AM (PST)

GNR have announced new tour dates Stateside for Not In This Lifetime. I am real tempted to sell a leg and get to the Florida date somehow so I can croon along to “Sorry” and “Civil War”, as I have still never gotten to see the band live. Anyhow, new music is also rumored to be on the way and I hope it is in a classic/ hard rock vein like some of the stronger Chinese tracks such as “I.R.S.”, “Street Of Dreams” and “Chinese Democracy” more than the more experimental stuff. I am sure it is gonna have more bite anyway with the current line-up of OG legends and tour tested newer members who slugged it out and earned their keep.

Pre-sale for the new dates starts on June 18 at 10 a.m. local time, with V.I.P. packages available then. General sale begins on June 21 at 10 a.m. local time.
Newly announced tour dates:
Sep. 25 – Charlotte, NC @ Spectrum Center
Oct. 01 – Jacksonville, FL @ Vystar Veterans Memorial Arena
Oct. 07 – Wichita, KS @ Intrust Bank Arena
Oct. 15 – Lincoln, NE @ Pinnacle Bank Arena
Oct. 23 – Oklahoma City, OK @ Chesapeake Energey Arena
Oct. 29 – Salt Lake City, UT @ Vivint Smart Home Arena
Dec. 01 – Las Vegas, NV @ Collosseum at Ceasars Palace
Dec. 02 – Las Vegas, NV @ Collosseum at Ceasars Palace

In addition to the above-mentioned shows, GUNS N’ ROSES will make four U.S. festival appearances this fall — Louder Than Life, Austin City Limits, Exit 111 and Voodoo Music + Arts Experience.
