Well, the headline doesn’t lie! Rabble rousers and hater arousers Neckbeard Deathcamp, the band you love or love to hate (the secone one if you are a fash loser), are hitting the road. Even though Kriegmaster from the band writes for us sometimes I just noticed they still don’t have a band profile on our system, haha. How ungrateful are we?! Sorry dudes, I will build that soon but in the meantime I will publish you under the Neck Deep In Filth band module so we don’t have a lot of html nonsense going haywire on this article post, hahaha. You could team up and be The Filthy Neckbeards, a more rustic sounding down to earth name? But I also listed this as a Power Metal article. Just because. Where was I? Where am I?

Oh yeah, a real tour to promote and not just inane commentary! Yes, we are stoked Neckbeard Deathcamp are hitting the road to rock your face and defy their foes, and all the bands on the tour are siiiiick:

AS THE FIRES OF FASCISM KINDLE IN THE COLLAPSING UNITED STATES; THE SPARK WILL BE EXTERMINATED BY THE UNRELENTING MIGHT OF NECKBEARD DEATHCAMP.  THE INFAMOUS MILITANT BLACK METAL ETERNAL WARKRUSADE FROM BORDEAUX FRANCE— NECKBEARD DEATHCAMP WILL CONTINUE CRUSHING FEDORAS ACROSS U.S. SOIL THIS SPRING AND SUMMER ON THE “THE FREE SPEECH IN AMERICA TOUR.” OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED TODAY— NECKBEARD DEATHCAMP WILL BE JOINED BY THE FOLLOWING SPECIAL GUESTS ON SELECT DATES: THEORIES (5/27-6/17), WVRM (5/27-6/02), NO CONVICTIONS (5/27-6/01) & DRYAD (6/02-6/22). ALL DATES BELOW.

“IT IS WITH EQUAL PARTS BLOODTHIRST AND EAGERNESS THAT WE UNFURL THE LONG BLACK WARBANNERS AND BEGIN OUR CRUSADE ACROSS AMERICA. WITH EVERY FOOTFALL IN OUR CAMPAIGN, THE GROUND BENEATH OUR ENEMIES GROWS SMALLER. AND MAY THEIR LIGHT OF HOPE FINALLY BE CONSUMED BY THE DARK AS WE WILL KNOW NO MERCY.” -NECKBEARD DEATHCAMP

Gore/death metallers Exhumed are a legendary act known for lots of destroyed guts in their aesthetic. Who knew that included not only chainsaw mauling but also extended to cover guts destroyed by hot peppers?!! Who among us knew?!! The band have teamed with Hella Hot Sauce to create Forged In Fire Sauce and are taking it on the road on their latest tour.

I had the Bad Brains hot sauce once when Doc thoughtfully gave me some to try and I loved it. I think hot sauce is a neat merch item. Bands make a lot of beer these days but hot sauce seems a little more niche and inventive, honestly. Like, who really expects that? Anyway, it is kind of funny Exhumed are bringing their hot sauce on the road with them though cuz it reminds me vaguely of this kid I knew who once said he thought bands should have salad bars as opening acts. Random.

Frontman Matt Harvey talked a little about the tour and the “meet-and-eat” events that will be unique to each show:

“We’re excited to do something a little different this time. It’s gonna be fun to do something food-related every night and see people’s reactions first-hand to the hot sauce, and since it’s called Forged in Fire, we’re loading up the set with older stuff we haven’t played in years, so it should be a rager every night!”

Check your local show for more information about when to show up and face the heat. As well as featuring a setlist focused on their early material, the band will be selling limited quantities of “Forged in Fire” hot sauce and a special shirt design exclusive for this tour, so come out and get your face melted!

If I had $100 I would bet you that some hot sauce ends up covering someone in the mosh pit on more than one of these dates. I feel bad for any venue janitor who has to clean up hot sauce and beer shit bathrooms! Can we get a new song called The Gravemakers of Eatin’ Burgs? Ok, I am stopping now.

EXHUMED Tour Dates:
4/24 San Luis Obispo, CA – The Graduate
4/25 Mesa, AZ – Club Red (w/Lago)
4/26 Los Angeles, CA – 5 Star Bar
4/27 Oakland, CA – Eli’s Mile High Club (w/Necrot)
4/28 Portland, OR – Tonic Lounge

Venomous Concept want to handle all your hedge trimming needs.

Ok, so today we have a slew of bad ass or downright hysterical shit to share with you riff lovin’ pond scum out there. Let’s go!

Venomous Concept, the Poison Idea and grind-influenced brain bashin’ mosh worthy killer project (featuring members of Brutal Truth, Napalm Death and Corrupt Moral Altar) are gonna be touring with fuckin’ Brujeria! That is a one two punch and a lot of work for Shayne! Aggression and Sangre round out a great package.

Our pal Pope Richard at Blackened Death Records has unveiled Warbrother, a ridiculous Hulk Hogan themed War metal parody. The songs are kind of sung like Hogan would phrase them – without any off the cuff racist slurs, thankfully – and the music kicks ass. I am way more interested in this release than Chris Hemsworth cosplaying as the Hulkster. In a post Gawker environment where Hogan was happy to buddy up with the gross Peter Thiel, ugh…barf up some Budweiser, brother, but I aint watchin’ your pending biopic. I always like Junk Yard Dog and The Ultimate Warrior better anyway, but this record kicks fuckin’ ass and will certainly upset edgelords.

Get tickets HERE for tickets to the big newly announced KORN/AIC tour. That is ALICE IN CHAINS, not AOC/Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. I feel like AOC would actually kick ass fronting Korn or Alice. We already know she can dance ! But I think there is that one Korn tune about Obama being an illuminati puppet or something, right? Anyone remember that? I don’t know how she would feel about that number.

Anyway, H09909 being on this is pretty awesome. They are going to make a huge dent more and more if they keep landing killer opportunities like this. I have always thought Underoath was one of the most overrated bands of all time in the scene by far, and I still haven’t heard Fever333 but this is going to be a big ticket worth knowing about.

Living Colour to play ‘VIVID’ 30th UK dates

Posted by Morgan Ywain Evans on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 5:28 PM (PST)

Man, after seeing some of the Cohen testimony today and wondering if just maybe the Government shouldn’t seem shadier than an episode of Ozark, it was nice to get the some feel good ‘aww yeah’ feels from iconic funky hard rockers Living Colour after spending most of the day feeling generally pretty darn bleak.  The brilliant act will be hitting the UK to wow crowds very soon! Still one of the all time greatest rock bands and tremendously good live, if you are anywhere near these dates you gotta go. Great support acts as well! Check the announcement below.

Necrot announce Decibel off-dates with Blood Incantation

Posted by Morgan Ywain Evans on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at 1:45 PM (PST)

West Coast Death Metal kickers of ass Necrot are part of a monstrously stacked Decibel Magazine Tour this year alongside Morbid Angel, Cannibal Corpse, friggin’ Immolation and Blood Incantation. That is an insanely quality package by any deadly measure. Necrot and Blood Incantation have a well-earned underground buzz at present and thus it is awesome that additional dates have been added where you can catch the two acts together doing, I presume, slightly longer sets. The performances will take place in Feb. and March during off dates from the bigger tour.

You’ll want to catch them live because as we all know, Necrot delivered a no holds barred rifferendum to the scene in a manner that was far from riffgurgitated on their celebrated Blood Offerings.

Suffice to say, you’d “Rather Be Dead” than miss this!

Queensryche announce “The Verdict” European Tour

Posted by Morgan Ywain Evans on Monday, February 4, 2019 at 4:22 PM (PST)

Metal and hard rock institution Queensryche have a slew of new dates below for both the US and newly announced European tour dates. Loving  the lean and mean classic replicating sound of “Man The Machine.” This version of the band just gets more and more refined somehow. Grateful to have such a killer Queensryche in 2019 as a longtime fan!

“We are very excited that we will touring Europe again! Really looking forward to seeing you all in support of our new album! Thank you all for your embrace and support,” states singer Todd La Torre.

Children Of Bodom’s 2019 North American Tour is going to have a big impact, especially with direct support from Finnish doom band Swallow The Sun to take things even further into dark waters.

Additional support will come from Wolfheart. Summer’s Circle, Hollow Cry, and Fragmentum as openers for select dates. The tour starts March 13th in Quebec City and wraps on April 19th in New York City. Tickets are available for purchase HERE.

Pre-Order new 2019 album HEXED here. It isn’t out til March but we are slavering over the epic disdain of “Under Grass And Clover”. Bad ass stuff! I haven’t seen these guys live in awhile and definitely have the itch lately. This seems like it is going to be an awesome new era for the band.

We have some shitty news for High On Fire fans. If you are like us you know they are one of the consistently greatest acts in modern music and are a devastating force live, but you will not get to see the band on previously announced upcoming dates at the moment. The Electric Messiah tour, sponsored by Revolver, has been derailed.

Matt Pike issued a statement and sounds devastated.

“Dear Friends and fans,
To my brothers, my crew, and anyone else this affects. I do apologize for the inconvenience of this cancelation. I feel as though I’m explaining lightning striking twice. I wanted nothing more in the world to play these songs live, nor ever cancel something I say I’m gonna do.”
“I am a warrior for our art, and have endured some painful things to what we do. The timing and repeating nature of this is my nightmare and almost impossible. Nevertheless, to save yet another toe, my big one, I have been grounded by circumstances out of my control. I will have more of a medical report to come but right now I’m at great risk of losing it, and/or a bigger portion of my foot due to Diabetes. Which I have been managing very well.”
“It just shows how this disease can affect our lives. Please forgive me, and if you know anything about me, you know this is not like me. We will be back!”

Matt, on behalf of Metal Riot, we can only imagine how shitty this feels and are sending a ton of love. Please worry about yourself first. You have already given way more to metal than most ever come close to in a lifetime.

Ensiferum have kicked off a lively tour with Septicflesh, Arsis

Posted by Metal Riot on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 4:18 AM (PST)
After a near four-year absence, Finnish folk metallers ENSIFERUM will make their way to North American shores this weekend on a month-long headlining tour. The trek will commence on January 5th in Baltimore, Maryland and run through January 29th in Tampa, Florida. Support will be provided by Septicflesh and Arsis. Following the tour, ENSIFERUM will also make an appearance on the 70,000 Tons Of Metal 2019 cruise before heading to Mexico. See all confirmed dates below.

In anticipation of the upcoming live dates, the band posted a new beer tasting video filmed at the 2018 MetalDays Festival as well as a live clip, recorded in Pratteln, Switzerland on May 12th, 2018. Both are viewable at THIS LOCATION.

“When we made One Man Army (2015), we wanted it to sound more like a live album than a traditional studio album,” notes bassist Sami Hinkka “With Two Paths, we took that to the next level with analog recording, cutting down tracks and even recording songs without a click, and because of that there is a totally different kind of groove compared to most modern metal albums. It all comes down to writing music that sounds good to us and is fun to play live, and I would say with Two Paths we’ve done everything better than we ever have before.”

Soen streaming “Martyrs” video at Metal Injection

Posted by longhairedpoet on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 12:02 PM (PST)

Swedish progressive metallers Soen are streaming the music video for their song “Martyrs” over at Metal Injection.

The music video starts with the lead singer dressing in drag and meeting the rest of the band out on the town. They are also dressed in drag.

Vocalist Joel Ekelöf had this to say about the video:

“The video and the song reflects the importance to stand up for yourself and not be trapped in other peoples’ expectations of you. People are going to try to push you down and they want you to conform to the prevailing ideals, but as long as you follow your own path, you are never wrong.”

This message is matched with the band disrobing from their drag at the end of the video.

Produced by David Castillo and Iñaki Marconi at Ghostward Studios and Studio 6, Lotus features the first recorded Soen material with newest recruit, Canadian-born guitarist Cody Ford.

Check out the music video for “Martyrs” and Soen European tour dates here.
