A reminder that tech death maestros Archspire, which placed at #14 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart, will embark on the “Bloodletting North America XI” tour later this month.  The Kennedy Veil, Origin and a slew of other bands are also on the package.

A full list of confirmed tour dates and the music for “Involuntary Doppelgänger” can be found below.

I am listening to “Delusions” from Wistful by Norwegian songstress Sylvaine right now after a deep sleep and it is gently easing me back to reality after I collapsed into bed this evening. The music has me feeling like I am still dreaming though I am also admittedly in the dark, very exhausted from a moving job and somewhat dizzy from Spiro and being over-caffeinated today. Honestly, this music is so easy to get lost in and so comfortable as an escape from the state of things right now that I want to just stop typing, close my eyes and drift off with it, but then I would fail to remind our dear readers in Europe about Sylvaine’s new tour which starts imminently!

Shores Of Null who support are a Metal Riot favorite (read a review of their latest HERE) and I have never heard of Harikiri For The Sky, but how bad could they be to earn a spot on such a cool tour? Hopefully she will come back to the United States soon as well.

Immortal Bird to begin first European tour with Moshpig this month

Posted by Morgan Ywain Evans on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 1:13 PM (PST)

I was just playing Immortal Bird the other day to sort of expand the horizons of someone ‘stuck’ in Converge and ETID land. Not that there is anything wrong with those acts – they are both super talented and awesome – but a lot of younger kids I know sort of get in to them and stop there. There is a whole wide world of heavy music waiting for you beyond the most popular acts!

Anyway, Immortal Bird are a big favorite here at Metal Riot – one of the most self-challenging and determined acts out there. They are now kicking off their first European tour! To our Euro readers…GO TO THIS!!! And of course check out their recent music HERE.

“It’s our first time touring Europe,” says vocalist Rae Amitay. “We’re going out with a super intense and fun French grindcore band, Moshpig, hitting four countries in two weeks, and a couple of the highlights will be the Damnation Prefest in Leeds and Bilbao Deathfest in Spain with Sete Star Sept, Pulmonary Fibrosis, Internal Suffering, and a bunch more. Very stoked to get out of the US for a minute!”

The tour starts October 21st and features French grindcore band Moshpig as well.

The brotherhood that is Black Label Society are hitting the road again. Rocking plenty a face off of late with Zakk Sabbath and Ozzy is not enough for the insatiable guitarist Zakk Wylde and the man with a plan is taking BLS back to the stages of America in 2018. The band will be supporting Grimmest Hits and are bringing a stellar array of heavy support on select dates from Eyehategod, Red Fang and Corrosion Of fuckin’ Conformity.

Paranormal features special guests like U2’s Larry Mullen Jr., who plays on 9 of the 12 new songs; Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top; Deep Purple’s Roger Glover, as well as a highly anticipated mini-reunion of the original Alice Cooper band members.

King Parrot announce UK headliner

Posted by Morgan Ywain Evans on Friday, September 29, 2017 at 1:00 PM (PST)

Was listening to Locrian’s bleakly comforting “The Future Of Death” when some fresh thrashy news hit my inbox. The UK is cooler than we are in America and thus Australian rage-a-holics King Parrot can probably do a better proper headliner there. Let’s face it, a lot of Americans listen to hot garbage when not believing steaming horseshit.

“We’re excited to announce a headlining UK tour this November, in support of our new album, Ugly Produce”, states KING PARROT’s vocalist, Matt Young. The Australian thrash metal / grindcore band offered a positive update after the cancellation of their autumn European tour with Decapitated. KING PARROT will start the tour in Norwich, UK, on November 7th, shortly after the completion of their ongoing North American run with Superjoint and Devildriver.

Igorrr European Tour dates, live footage from Dour Festival

Posted by Morgan Ywain Evans on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 8:39 AM (PST)

Igorrr– the brainchild of French musician and eclectic composer Gautier Serre – certainly made one of the greatest, zaniest and most inspired albums of the year with Savage Sinusoid. Now you can witness the band’s delightful array of various insanities live as they are setting out on a European tour, or watch new footage of their recent performance at the Dour Festival.

Gautier Serre comments: “We’re very excited to take the road for almost two months and to play this music all over Europe. Performing this music provokes always very interesting reactions – some people get it, others don’t. While we are deep into it with the band, it’s going to be a strong experience for sure.”

Nitrus Oxide is not included but we do have dates and live footage BELOW.

Immolation’s Euro ATONEMENT Tour with Azarath, Melekesh commences

Posted by Morgan Ywain Evans on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 12:14 AM (PST)

Hey, it’s 3AM here and I just got back from a late night coffee at a diner with a friend conceptualizing world takeover. Metal Riot and Dying Scene had some hack bot bullshit again but we are back and I am really stoked to remind all our European readers to attend the Immolation ATONEMENT Tour ASAP. This is one of the most perfect live tour line ups for death metal and various extreme extremities of the Fall! Let’s face it – Immolation are friggin’ death metal gods. “Destrucive Currents” seems like a fitting song for the times right now.

Yes, Immolation of course are always amazing and I am really a fan of Polish death lords Azarath’s latest record In Extremis in particular from this line-up of groups at the moment. Completely uncompromising and incredible ferocity, technical but not pompous and still very old school in enraged bashing execution.

Anyway, a moment of metal respect and silence for everyone struggling with hurricane forces right now. And for the fans who need a lift up remember metal is there for you and may your days and nights be full of only the best of it! This tour is a good way to ensure that is what happens to you!!

Dates and music below.

Saying Castle are the real deal is an understatement. Not only do they write material that is consistently near or AT the top of the heap for anything released the same year, they tour like wild zealous demon dogs burning up the road on the way to heavy metal Oz. And they are pretty much a perfect power trio, which is always the coolest band formation. Since the release of their most recent offering, Welcome To The Graveyard, which was issued last summer via Ván Records, CASTLE’s massive near two-hundred-date worldwide takeover has included tours of the US, Europe, Canada, and the band’s first ever tour of Japan last December. We still remain fairly in awe of these alleged humans.

Slated to begin September 7th in Riverside, California and come to a close on September 30th in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the band’s latest trek includes performances at Shadow Woods Metal Fest and Stoned Meadow Of Doom.
“We’re looking forward to taking a break from writing the new record and hitting the road for one more East Coast run this year to play Shadow Woods Metal Fest in White Hall, Maryland and Stoned Meadow Of Doom Fest in Sioux Falls, South Dakota,” issues the band. “Both fests offer all-out amazing lineups and we’re proud to be part of them. Plus, we’ll be playing lots of killer shows along the way and it’s very possible if you’re at the show you going to hear a new track or two.”

All dates for our faves Below.

Thank the unholy darkness: 1349 announce US tour dates!

Posted by Morgan Ywain Evans on Friday, September 1, 2017 at 9:51 AM (PST)

I was just reading an email with 36 Crazyfists publicist when I saw a new message that esteemed black metal legion 1349, in my opinion one of the top 10 black metal bands in the world as far as consistent quality goes, are touring the US. What does one have to do with the other? Nothing except they are next to one another in my iTunes, so that is an odd coincidence. Though not as odd as the time former Coheed bassist Mic Todd and I sang karaoke years ago and he sang ‘Alison’ and I sang ‘Suspicious Minds’ and then months later when I saw Elvis Costello (this was like ten years ago or more) Elvis combined those two songs in his Central Park set into a medley! I had no idea he did that sometimes and it hella tripped me out. Anyway, tangent…bear with me. Drinking a Guinness Extra Stout lunch and blasting 1349’s lightning fast brain scouring “Slaves” as I try and type meaningful sentences for other  humans to consume.

Ok, 1349 are fucking touring in the United States. Hopefully they will bring the black plague along and wipe out all the idiots who don’t believe in global warming, though if 1349 did this it is doubtless some mega church people would just see it as the work of the devil. Whatever, just get it done!

1349 have announced U.S. dates surrounding this year’s Ozzfest (they are def the most extreme band playing). 1349 will tour the South supported by TOMBS for a very cool and slightly disparate pairing. Additionally, the band will play as main support to KREATOR on select dates! How anyone will not have their head ripped clean off by the sheer speed of Kreator and 1349, at times both two of the fastest bands on the planet, is beyond me. That is going to kick major goat butt.

Ne Obliviscaris announce North American ‘Urn’ tour with Allegeaon

Posted by Morgan Ywain Evans on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at 4:06 PM (PST)

I am getting a slow start posting today as I did a lot of non music related work today and am wiped out, plus wasted a bunch of time reading bad reviews of The Dark Tower movie. I actually thought the movie was pretty cool and while it was very, very streamlined, you’d have to be an idiot not to grasp the plot and it left set up to develop a lot more stuff from the books in the future or in the potential tv show as well. People should relax. The cast was cool and McConaughey whispering emotionless hate commands was fairly fear inducing. The film also serves as a canonical sequel to the novel series, which concludes with the revelation that Roland’s quest is a cyclical time loop; the presence of the Horn of Eld, which Roland carries in the film, indicates that this is the next cycle.

Anyway, this is not a movie review site but I always have tangents about comic shows and fantasy adaptations accidentally, haha. NOW here is some cool tour news for fans of the current bigger stars of the young crop of tech and extreme prog metal.

Australian progressive metallers NE OBLIVISCARIS have announced a headlining US tour! The “Urn North American Tour 2017” begins on November 1 in San Francisco, and sees the band traveling across the country, making stops in Los Angeles, Vancouver, Montreal, New York, Austin, and more, before concluding on December 4. Support on this tour comes from ALLEGAEON. A full list of confirmed tour dates can be found below.

Regarding the tour, the band comments: “We will be landing for this tour only a few days after ‘URN’ is released and couldn’t be more excited to present to you the first tour of our ‘Urn’ album cycle. You can expect a full 90 min. show featuring songs from all 3 albums!”

NE OBLIVISCARIS will tour in support of their new album Urn. The band’s highly anticipated album (Number 8 on our top ten most anticipated Metal Riot Fall albums list) will be released worldwide on October 27.  “Urn (Part I) – And Within The Void We Are Breathless” is streaming online now at the Season of Mist YouTube channel.

Urn is now available for pre-order across various CD and LP formats at the Season of Mist E-Shop.
