Swedish black metal outfit Marduk posted their first song, “Warschau 2: Headhunter Halfmoon,” from the upcoming EP “Iron Dawn.” The album is set to be released May 30, via Regain Records.

Marduk detail upcoming “Iron Dawn” EP

Sweden’s black metal outfit Marduk have detailed their upcoming 3-song EP titled “Iron Dawn.” The EP is set to be released on May 27th, the same date as the band’s appearance at Maryland “Deathfest.” It will be available at that show, and on all the dates on their ensuing “7 Bowls of Wrath” tour.

The tracklisting for the “Iron Dawn” EP is comprised of tracks that will differ, conceptually, to their upcoming full-length. Hole in the Sky XII: First Bands Announced – Marduk, Ghost, Negative Plane

Bergen, Norway’s annual Hole in the Sky Metal Festival has announced the first bands for 2011. Sweden’s Marduk and Ghost, and Negative Plane from Florida are the first acts to join the bill after some delay due to settling on festival venues. It is now confirmed that HITS will carry on with the same setup as before – two days at the Garage club, finishing off with two days at USF. The festival will take place August 24 – 27, 2011. Tickets are now on sale.

The Hole in the Sky festival was founded in 2000 in memory of the late Erik “Grim” Brødreskift (Immortal, Gorgoroth, Borknagar) and continues to rank as a “best of” year after year by metal journalists and fans alike.

More bands are to be announced soon.

Marduk to Perform at German Walpurgis Metal Days Festival May 6-7

Swedish black metalers, Marduk, have just been confirmed to appear at the 2011 Walpurgis Metal Days festival taking place May 6-7 in Hauzenberg, Bavaria in Germany.

Marduk will be on a brief 7-city U.S. tour following their appearance at the German festival.

The Walpurgis Metal Days Festival began in 2000 after an Armistice concert where, according to the official festival Web site, several friends came up with the idea. Not without its share of struggles, the festival has been gaining momentum over the last decade and is now considered a destination for Europeans and metalers worldwide.

Aura Noir Additional U.S. Tour Dates Announced

Aura NoirAs previously announced, Aura Noir will support Marduk on their “Seven Bowls of Wrath” North American tour commencing with Maryland Death Fest May 27th. Two additional Aura Noir headlining dates have been added, June 4 in Clifton, NJ and June 5, location to-be-confirmed.

Marduk North American Tour Dates Announced

MardukSweden’s Marduk are set to return to the U.S. for another round of live performances. The tour starts on May 27 at Maryland Deathfest in Baltimore and runs through a week’s worth of dates, closing on June 3 at Williamsburg Music Hall in Brooklyn, New York.

Support will be provided by Aura Noir, Black Anvil, Panzerfaust and HOD.

Marduk Announces 2 New Summer Festival Appearances

Sweden’s black metal Marduk stated that  “With great delight we can hereby announce 2 more festival appearances for the coming black summer.” The band will be appearing at the Hole in the Sky Festival in Norway with such bands as Rotting Christ, Suffocation, Evile, Venom, Ihsahn, Cathedral, Obituary, Watain, and Triptykon. They will also be appearing at the Elsrock Festival in Holland along with such bands as Dream Evil, Napalm Death, Dew-Scented, and Agnostic Front.

Marduk has also recently announced tour dates in Sweden, Germany, Northern Europe, and the 70,000 Tons of Metal Cruise. The band’s latest and 11th studio album “Wormwood” was released this past fall via Regain Records.

Marduk announce Swedish tour dates

Black metallers Marduk have announced two Swedish tour dates for the summer of 2011. A press release from the bands label, Regain Records stated:

“On this sea of rats shall we set our throne! With delight we can hereby announce 2 Swedish shows for the upcoming year. First of Marduk will be appear in Strömstad on February the 26th together with Mayhem and Nifelheim. Dont miss out on that very special event. In July Marduk will perform at the Getaway Rock Open Air festival in Gävle(Swe). The event is taking place between the 7-9 of July.”

This years lineup for the Getaway Rock Open Air Festival will also feature: Immortal, Death Angel and Entombed, amongst others.

Marduk confirmed to play Summer Breeze festival in Germany

Marduk band photo with bloody chestSwedish black metal veterans Marduk have been confirmed to perform at Summer Breeze 2011 in Dinkelsbühl, Germany.   The 14th Summer Breeze Festival will be held in Dinkelsbühl, Germany from August 18th to 20st, 2011.  The event will take place over three days on two open air stages with no simultaneous performances on those two stages as well as two smaller stages, the Party Stage and the Camel Stage.  Other confirmed acts include Arch Enemy, Bolt Thrower, Caliban, Corvus Corax, Excrementory Grindfuckers, Farmer Boys, Hail of Bullets, Hammerfall, The Haunted, Kalmah, Kvelertak, Primordial, Saltatio Mortis, Skeletonwitch, Týr, Vomitory, Witchery, and others.

Marduk announce they are playing the 70,000 tons of metal cruise ship

70000 Tons of Metal CruiseSwedish black metallers Marduk have announced that they will be on the lineup for the “70,000 Tons of Metal” cruise. The event is being billed as the “World’s Biggest Floating Metal Festival.” The event is taking place on a cruise ship with a reported 40 metal bands as the cruise makes it’s way from Miami, Florida to Cozumel, Mexico. Although the lineup is still being worked out, in addition to Marduk the following bands are confirmed for the event: AgentSteel, Amon Amarth, Death Angel, Ensiferium, Epica, Exodus, Fear Factory, Finntroll, Forbidden, Iced Earth, Korpiklaani, Moonspell, Obituary, Raven, Saxon, Sodom, Sonata Arctica, Swashbuckle (how could there not be pirates!), Testament, Trouble, Uli Jon Roth, and Witchburner.

Marduk confirms/updates Northern European tour dates

MardukSwedish black metallers Marduk have released updated dates for their upcoming “The Great Northern War 2010” tour. The tour is scheduled to hit Poland, Germany, Belgium, Holland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Latvia, and Lithuania.
