Born Of Osiris Denied Entry to Canada, Cancels Tour

Posted by jillettinger on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 1:20 PM (PST)

Illinois death metal band, Born of Osiris, had to cancel their Canadian April tour dates slated alongside August Burns Red, because they were denied entry into the country.

The band’s guitarist, Lee McKinney reported that “Due to some very unexpected problems at the border, we were unable to cross into Canada. We were forced to turn around and head home and could not be more bummed about this. We are so sorry to everyone who had already bought tickets to the shows in hopes to see us. We were excited to get to play a lot of places we haven’t been to before throughout Canada with some great bands. We will try again to make it out to Canada in the near future, and will do everything within our powers to ensure we make it across next time.”

The band released, “The Discovery” earlier this month to critical praises.

Album Review: Born Of Osiris – “The Discovery”

Posted by NichTheHair on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 11:24 AM (PST)

I’m still trying to collect the pools of my face that were melted off once I listened to “The Discovery.” Born Of Osiris have made a beautiful and brutal album with their latest release, refining their unique sound while venturing into new ground. This impervious recording can stand up to anything, blasting its gatling gun rhythm and time, and dropping devastating drum fills to all who oppose. One aspect that really stood out was the crystal clear bass tracking. Another, was the vastly improved blend of Joe Buras’s sharp, icy vocals and Ronnie Canizaro’s deathly deep belts. This is a front to back player all day long.
