Metal Church announce new album title.

Posted by tyrusrunyan on Friday, July 12, 2013 at 10:59 AM (PST)

MetalChurchLogoRecently reunited San Francisco metal band Metal Church have announced the title of their upcoming tenth studio album. The album will be titled Generation Nothing and is set for release by the end of the year via guitarist Kurdt Vanderhoof label Body of Work Recordings. The album was recorded at Vanderhoof’s studio, English Channel, in Washington.

Frontman Ronny Munroe stated that the new album is: “very reminiscent of the old days with some stuff that’s very ‘now.’ There’s a bit of… I’m not going to say ‘prog’ because it’s not, but there’s a couple of elements in there that are a little bit progressive. For the most part, out of this batch of songs, they really sound more reminiscent of the early days than anything we’ve done before with this lineup. This excites me very much, and I think the fans are really going to dig it.”

Everything we do comes from the heart, and Electric Punishment documents that no other band on this planet sounds like VICIOUS RUMORS. Metal Church to reunite for 70,000 Tons of Metal

Posted by Metal Dude on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 8:52 AM (PST)

After their second breakup in 2009, Metal Church will reunite once again in January for 70,000 Tons of Metal, which many call “the world’s biggest heavy metal cruise”. The reunion lineup consists of Ronny Munroe on vocals, Kurdt Vanderhoof and Jay Reynolds on guitars, Steve Unger on bass, and Jeff Plate on drums.

Metal Church will do at least two performances on 70,000 Tons of Metal. There, they will perform their 1984 classic self-titled debut album in its entirety. On the other show, there will be a “greatest-hits” set and you can vote for what songs you want the band to play. More details on how to vote will be announced soon.

For the rest of the lineup of next year’s 70,000 Tons of Metal, see here.

There is currently no indication whether the reunion will result in recording a new album or touring extensively. Their last studio album, This Present Wasteland, came out in 2008 on SPV/Steamhammer.
