Album Review: Parkway Drive- “Atlas”

Posted by NichTheHair on Monday, November 26, 2012 at 5:51 PM (PST)

I fucking love consistency. Crushing drum blasts, vicious hard as nails vocals, and thrash and a half guiar riffing. Parkway Drive don’t fix shit if it’s not broken. For their fourth Epitaph full length, they keep it pretty tightly knit, same Parkway time, same Parkway place: fucking metal.

Parkway Drive streaming new track “Old Ghosts / New Regrets” in video form

Posted by Fireball13 on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at 9:41 AM (PST)

Australian metalcore band Parkway Drive have recently released their new song “Old Ghosts / New Regrets.” The song is streaming in video form and you can check it out right here.

The new track is off the band’s upcoming album Atlas which is set to be released on October 30th via Epitaph Records. “The album was written at a time the band was travelling very extensively which had a major effect on the lyrics,” says McCall. “While there is no overarching theme, the songs resonate with the travels we as a band have made, and the effects they have had. This has lead to some of the harshest, and also some of the most personal lyrical content that we’ve ever put to music. In every way, this record has been shaped by the experiences that shaped us a people.”

McCall continues, “This record means the world to us. Never as a band, and as people, have we put more effort and thought into creating music. There is more of us in this record than anything before. The experiences that it took to create over the years were once in a lifetime. Ten years down the track, this is the Parkway you know, but we’ve decided to step it up.”

Posted by XxCrashQueenxX on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at 1:02 PM (PST)

Parkway Drive is currently hiding out somewhere in Los Angeles, CA working on their next full length album. The band is going to take a total of seven weeks to work on this project, which is the longest that they have ever taken on any of their albums. This will be the band’s follow up to their infamous 2010 release Deep Blue.

Vocalist Winston McCall had these comments to make about the new album:

“When we finished Deep Blue I was like, ‘I don’t know where we go from here?’ But if there was ever a way to step up from the last record, this is the way to do it. We’re expanding in every way we can. But at the same time – and I say this with every new record – it still sounds like Parkway.”

Obey The Brave signs to Epitaph Records

Posted by XxCrashQueenxX on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at 12:30 PM (PST)

Canada’s metalcore act Obey The Brave has signed to Epitaph Records. The label has plans of releasing Obey The Brave’s new record Young Blood on August 28th of this year. The album can now be pre-ordered via the Epitaph Store.

Vocalist Alex Erian had these comments to make about the signing:

“I remember listening to my Pennywise and Rancid cassettes back in high school and daydreaming endlessly about being in a band and touring the world. If someone would have told me back then that I’d sign one day with the label that started it all, I would have never believed it. It feels unreal but my boys in OTB and I are definitely up to the challenge. We’re extremely honored to now be part of the Epitaph family and are looking forward to many years of pure fucking destruction together!”

The band has released a music video for their single “Get Real” and a video in regards to the signing, to see the videos click here.
