Falls Of Rauros reveal new track “Weapons of Refusal”

Posted by longhairedpoet on Friday, May 24, 2019 at 3:41 PM (PST)

Portland, Maine metallers Falls Of Rauros are streaming their newest song “Weapons of Refusal” over at Revolver.

“Weapons of Refusal” comes off the band’s forthcoming album Patterns In Mythology due out July 19 via Gilead Media.

“‘Weapons of Refusal’ ultimately wound up being one of the more ‘optimistic’ songs on Patterns in Mythology, despite the overwhelming and borderline hopeless subject matter of the lyrics,” confesses guitarist/vocalist/lyricist Aaron Charles. “The title is a reference to Situationist thinker Raoul Vaneigem’s ‘The Revolution of Everyday Life’ which provided a wealth of inspiration around the period this album was written. The lyrics act as an entreaty to face down the violence and ugliness bombarding us daily and seek to build a better world, in whichever manner it must be done; it’s an encouraging and vengeful song about turning the weapons of the enemy back upon them.”

Check out Falls Of Rauros live show dates here.

And stream “Weapons of Refusal” via Revolver.

Enchantya release sophomore album

Portuguese metallers Enchantya’s newest album drops today! The album On Light And Wrath is out via Inverse Records.

On Light And Wrath was recorded, mixed and mastered by Fernando Matias (Moonspell, Bizarra Locomotiva, We Are The Damned, Sinistro, etc.). Says singer Rute Fevereiro of the album:

“On Light and Wrath is Enchantya’s musical essay about the two extremes of the human existence and the struggle for balance within and outside the soul. Inspired by the union of opposites Enchantya present this concept in their music, facing darkness in heavy tracks like “Last Moon of March” and “From the Ashes” and diving into the light in moments like “Near Life Experience” and “Downfall to Power”, with the interlude “Alma” making the bridge between two worlds of emotions that are complementary. With the presence of unforgettable guests, a choir and orchestrations, Enchantya promise with “On Light and Wrath” a listening experience that you won’t forget.”

Immortal Bird stream new song “Vestigial Warnings”

Posted by longhairedpoet on Friday, May 24, 2019 at 10:26 AM (PST)

Chicago metallers Immortal Bird have released their newest song “Vestigial Warnings.”

This grotesque track comes off the band’s upcoming album Thrive On Neglect which will be released on July 5 via 20 Buck Spin.

Says vocalist Rae Amitay of the track:

“This was the first full song we wrote together as our current configuration, and we’ve been playing it together for almost two years. Finally having it recorded and released feels like a significant step. Lyrically, this one is more ‘political’ than the rest of the material on the album. I’m not trying to be indirect by using metaphor, but I also don’t want to limit people’s perspective by being overt. With the ‘eyeless, glowing grubs…sickly white, dying still…choir of weakened gasping…,’ I’m not saying that I was thinking about certain people who occupy positions of power in this country but… Actually, that is what I’m saying. ‘They’ll tell you this is how it has to be. Abandon hope and worship apathy.'”

The upcoming Thrive On Neglect was produced by Dave Otero (Archspire, Cattle Decapitation, Khemmis).

Immortal Bird are heading out on a two-week tour starting today. Check out tour dates as well as “Vestigial Warnings” here.
