Posted by SeanB on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at 7:41 AM (PST)

Not a whole lot of info is available and I’ll save explaining the whole situation because if you don’t know already…you pretty much suck, but a fundraiser is being held for Lamb Of God frontman Randy Blythe to help out with his legal fees.

So far, the show is going to be hosted by Dave Brockie, will take place on August 31 at the Canal Club in Richmond, VA, and confirmed bands so far are Cannabis Corpse, Kung Fu Dykes, Throne From Royalty, Gloominous Doom, Little Ozzy and a few others.

So basically, get your ass down to Virginia for a worthy cause!

Randy Blythe gets new bail hearing

Posted by tyrusrunyan on Friday, July 13, 2012 at 8:58 AM (PST)

The sadly still imprisoned Lamb of God frontman, Randy Blythe, will be getting another bail hearing on July 19 according to WTVR. As good as it is to hear that the wheels are still turning, its a straight up tragedy that he remains in jail and apparently “a Prague attorney could still be allowed to again comment on bail” and if bail is revoked he can be keep in prison for up to six months. I am not going to paraphrase the whole article but if you have been following the “trial” its worth a read.

Lamb of God releases official statement

Posted by tyrusrunyan on Friday, July 6, 2012 at 9:23 AM (PST)

As most of you know Randy Blythe, the frontman for Lamb of God, has been sitting in a prison in Prague since June 27th on manslaughter charges stemming from a 2010 incident. The band have released their first official statement and you can read it here.

With Randy from Lamb Of God in metal news around the clock this week after being held in Czech jail on manslaughter charges for supposedly causing a fan to die, I thought it was a good time to look at a few simple truths about show protocol and the politics of moshing and stage diving.

While I have categorized this article under the “funny” category, it isn’t a laughing matter. Shit, the whole thing is pretty serious but I will try and keep it light (and probably will fail). The “funny” thing is how much this sucks and how the metal scene still is so fractured we can’t prevent incidents like this somehow. I don’t know the solution. Anyone?

I had a bad day. When I am angry, metal comforts me. So does ranting. I am sure many of you can relate. Here are two simple truths which form my basic premise: 1. Lamb Of God will always rule. 2. While it is sad when shows turn fatal, every metal show is a risk.

Click here to read a few thoughts and show anecdotes about stage diving and moshing. This does not reflect the official opinion of Metal Riot (just my grumpy ass).

Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe arrested for manslaughter

Posted by tyrusrunyan on Friday, June 29, 2012 at 11:16 AM (PST)

Frontman Randy Blythe of  Lamb of God has run afoul of the law in Prague. The singer was recently arrested in relation to an incident at 2010 show where a concert goer died after an altercation with Blythe. There is an translation of the original report here and Lamb of God’s PR team have released the following statement:

“Lamb of God management will be issuing an official statement on Monday regarding the charges made against singer Randy Blythe. As no formal charges have yet been made and the case is only in the investigation stages, it would be premature to make an official statement filled with false truths or innuendos.

“Having said that, management wished to address today one false piece of information that has been included in many of the news stories released so far. Under no circumstances was there a fight of any kind involved. This incident deals with a fan that three times during the concert jumped the barricade and rushed Randy during the performance. It is alleged that the third time, security was not able to reach him and that Randy pushed him back into the audience where supposedly he fell and hit his head.

“Again, until the investigation is concluded this weekend, nothing more will be released, but clarity and the facts needed to be addressed on this one reported point which is totally inaccurate.”

Metal’s semi-supergroup Hellyeah have just conducted a new interview in promtoion of their new album Band of Brothers, due June 5th via Eleven Seven Records.

Commented  singer Chad Gray, “With Band Of Brothers, I just quit being afraid of who I am in relation to this band. I think we’ve all really gotten back to the original roots of what we’ve done individually and brought it together on this album. As an artist, as long as you’re painting with your own brush, no one can compare or challenge you. I just painted with a bigger, heavier brush than I had with Hellyeahin the past. I think this is what fans have always expected to hear from us, and now were giving it to them.”

Obligatory “A” ?: Album Review: Lamb of God – “Resolution”

Posted by NichTheHair on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at 12:28 AM (PST)

Silence, cretins. Only whispers and assumptions preluded this release. No “in the studio video #17.” No album teasers or mysterious live song surfacing. Just *bam, new album. Sans hype, Lamb of God quietly released Resolution. I can respect that. Nothing is worse than when a band gives too much away before the album drops. So with their latest release from Epic, they kept to themselves.

Read on to see if the silence succeeded.
