Blues punks The Bobby Lees (Sam Quartin , Kendall Wind , Macky Bowman, Nick Casa) have been tearing it up on stages in Upstate, NY and around the country. While you may recognize Quartin from movie roles like the (forthcoming) Run With The Hunted and Let Me Make You A Martyr , this band is not a novelty project but a full fledged rock n rollercoaster. They totally scorch the stage with a howling sense of purpose and poetic sting, capturing a primal and at times even fun energy on Beauty Pageant . Feral animals and ghosts hiding in the trees agree that this band is the shit. This record and group truly deserve to be heard, so head to their Bandcamp and blast "Deem Em Dead" now. You can say you knew 'em when.

We’ve been getting requests for more hard rock lately and so here are some live shots of the band Fuel. You probably remember their emotional hit “Hemorrhage (In My Hands)” or that Brett Scallions sang with The Doors for awhile. Well, Brett is a great front man for what he does. It may not be metal but it is certainly hard rock and heck, they even had Ken from Candiria playing with them for awhile and he is like the best drummer in experimental metal so…whatever! I just found out they have a new album on Megaforce as well, so that’s pretty crazy. It’s called Puppet Strings and the reconstituted band has been touring it. Catharina Christiana got us some shots at a recent Poughkeepsie show.

According to Lambgoat, Rochester,NY tech spaz geniuses Psyopus are finally doing a reunion show or…three! This band was really under appreciated, partly because their music is some of the most insane shit you will ever hear, and the group hasn’t done anything in almost five lonesome years.
The three dates announced are:
7/18 Endicott, NY @ Downtown Quarterback
7/19 Clementon, NJ @ Harper’s Pub
7/20 Essex, MD @ The Circuit
While bassist Tommy Stinson stepped aside for 5 shows for some reunion gigs with former band The Replacements., Guns N Roses got a well known fill in.
Filling in for Tommy was none other than original bassist Duff, beginning on April 6 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and staying on for the remainder of the South American tour, including shows in Asuncion, Paraguay on April 9, La Paz, Bolivia on April 12, Recife, Brazil on April 15 and Fortaleza, Brazil on April 17.
Duff’s return saw many highlights, including the return of “Raw Power” and “Attitude” from The Spaghetti Incident to the setlist, as well as opening with “You Could Be Mine” in Bolivia! Click HERE for a video of “Live And Let Die” with Duff and more thoughts on GNR. This rules.Add to My Radar
Rise Records announced via Facebook that The Acacia Strain have finished recording their next album, due for summer release and produced by Will Putney (Stray From The Path, Four Year Strong, Reign Supreme).
“Just talked to Vincent from The Acacia Strain. He said the band just finished tracking the new record (roar of huge cheers). They play NE Metalfest this weekend and then head overseas to Australia/NZ.”
I can honestly say that I’ve waited a long time to see H.I.M.
There was this super anxious feeling deep inside me that I couldn’t explain. I was eager to hear what they sounded like live, what their stage presence would bring, and what their stage set up would look like.

Following countless years of personal hardships, studio disasters and times of music industry indecision, New Orleans’ own EYEHATEGOD, with much relief and excitement, are proud to announce the release of their brand new full-length! Entirely assembled and financed by the band, the self-titled, eleven-track long player will be released on May 27th by their partners at Housecore Records in North America, May 26th by Century Media in Europe, Australia and New Zealand and May 21st by Daymare in Japan.
Comments vocalist Mike IX Williams, “I have to say I don’t believe we’ve lost nary a step in the creation of this album and we think these newer songs are a killer combination of classic EYEHATEGOD mixed along with our best production, mixing, engineering and songwriting in thirteen years. The main and total tragic break in the chain, was obviously last year’s death of our great friend and drummer, Joey LaCaze. However, his original drum tracks made it onto the final master recordings and we’re fucking psyched about that… As for working with Housecore, it was a no-brainer. We’ve always been a family, and will always remain a family.”
Adds Housecore founder Philip H. Anselmo, “Being a part of the new EHG record is a dream come true. I’ve known, supported and loved the guys for almost as long as I’ve been playing music myself, and it is our pleasure here at The Housecore Records Compound to have ’em aboard. And I gotta mention, having heard the new record, this is the EYEHATEGOD record every true fan has been waiting for…. Hail!”
Check out the new lyric video for “Agitation! Propaganda!”
now playing at this LOCATION.
As a precursor to the release, EYEHATEGOD will play a special one-off show with High On Fire, Corrosion Of Conformity, Magrudergrind, Strong Intention and Ilsa at the Ottobar in Baltimore, Maryland on April 27th. For more info, point your browser HERE.Add to My Radar
Pittsburgh hardcore band Hindsight -is making it’s debut alongside Cult Leader (ex-Gaza), Yautja, Pray For Teeth and Mere Phantoms on May 20th at The Mr. Roboto Project. The band is described as “90’s Hardcore / Pittsburgh PA / 95 STYLE / TRUE CREW”.
Hindsight was formed in mid-late 2013 in Pittsburgh PA, by members of the Pittsburgh, Syracuse, and Buffalo hardcore scenes. Guitarist, Chris Smith (Meth Quarry), and bassist, Aaron Kaczynski (Meth Quarry/Silence) met Chris Grillo (drums) after he moved to PA from Syracuse. Smith and Grillo both share a love for 90’s hardcore of all kinds. Grillo grew up in Syracuse and Smith in Buffalo – both active in their respective scenes. After talking it over, the three decided to start jamming together and see how it went. From the first riff it it was full of energy – writing multiple songs per practice in some cases. The goal is just to have fun and play energetic, varied 90’s style hardcore with influences including One King Down, Strife, Coalesce, Despair, Strain, Deadguy, Snapcase, Harvest, Trial, Overcast, Mouthpiece and so forth. The good, meaningful stuff. After a brief hiatus last fall – Jack Kooser (ex-Osho) joined the band on vocals in 2014. His style fit right in with the music and rounded out the group.
Stay tuned. Hindsight are a new band sure to kill it in 2014! Respect!

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I realized there were only three bands playing. I didn’t know how early or late the show would be over, how long sets would be, or whether or not the bands would lack energy due to the small bill. The Parkway Drive show would be a different animal.
