Eyehategod return with “Agitation! Propaganda!”

Following countless years of personal hardships, studio disasters and times of music industry indecision, New Orleans’ own EYEHATEGOD, with much relief and excitement, are proud to announce the release of their brand new full-length! Entirely assembled and financed by the band, the self-titled, eleven-track long player will be released on May 27th by their partners at Housecore Records in North America, May 26th by Century Media in Europe, Australia and New Zealand and May 21st by Daymare in Japan.

Comments vocalist Mike IX Williams, “I have to say I don’t believe we’ve lost nary a step in the creation of this album and we think these newer songs are a killer combination of classic EYEHATEGOD mixed along with our best production, mixing, engineering and songwriting in thirteen years. The main and total tragic break in the chain, was obviously last year’s death of our great friend and drummer, Joey LaCaze. However, his original drum tracks made it onto the final master recordings and we’re fucking psyched about that… As for working with Housecore, it was a no-brainer. We’ve always been a family, and will always remain a family.”

Adds Housecore founder Philip H. Anselmo, “Being a part of the new EHG record is a dream come true. I’ve known, supported and loved the guys for almost as long as I’ve been playing music myself, and it is our pleasure here at The Housecore Records Compound to have ’em aboard. And I gotta mention, having heard the new record, this is the EYEHATEGOD record every true fan has been waiting for…. Hail!”

Check out  the new lyric video for “Agitation! Propaganda!”

now playing at this LOCATION.

As a precursor to the release, EYEHATEGOD will play a special one-off show with High On Fire, Corrosion Of Conformity, Magrudergrind, Strong Intention and Ilsa at the Ottobar in Baltimore, Maryland on April 27th. For more info, point your browser HERE.

Hindsight announce debut show with Cult Leader

Pittsburgh hardcore band Hindsight -is making it’s debut alongside Cult Leader (ex-Gaza), Yautja, Pray For Teeth and Mere Phantoms on May 20th at The Mr. Roboto Project. The band is described as “90’s Hardcore / Pittsburgh PA / 95 STYLE / TRUE CREW”.

Hindsight was formed in mid-late 2013 in Pittsburgh PA, by members of the Pittsburgh, Syracuse, and Buffalo hardcore scenes. Guitarist, Chris Smith (Meth Quarry), and bassist, Aaron Kaczynski (Meth Quarry/Silence) met Chris Grillo (drums) after he moved to PA from Syracuse. Smith and Grillo both share a love for 90’s hardcore of all kinds. Grillo grew up in Syracuse and Smith in Buffalo – both active in their respective scenes. After talking it over, the three decided to start jamming together and see how it went. From the first riff it it was full of energy – writing multiple songs per practice in some cases. The goal is just to have fun and play energetic, varied 90’s style hardcore with influences including One King Down, Strife, Coalesce, Despair, Strain, Deadguy, Snapcase, Harvest, Trial, Overcast, Mouthpiece and so forth. The good, meaningful stuff. After a brief hiatus last fall – Jack Kooser (ex-Osho) joined the band on vocals in 2014. His style fit right in with the music and rounded out the group.

Stay tuned. Hindsight are a new band sure to kill it in 2014! Respect!

Show Review: Parkway Drive -The Glass House: Pomona, CA

Posted by XxCrashQueenxX on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at 12:45 PM (PST)

PARKWAY DRIVE Peg I wasn’t sure what to expect when I realized there were only three bands playing. I didn’t know how early or late the show would be over, how long sets would be, or whether or not the bands would lack energy due to the small bill. The Parkway Drive show would be a different animal.

Gilead Media Music Festival 2014 Announced

In 2013 I had had “one of the must unbelievable musical experiences” of my life. Gilead Media Musical Festival 2012 was 2 days, 15 hours of live black metal, doom, punk, and drone from 19 bands originating from across the United States; bands such as Northless, Thou, False, Ash Borer, Aseethe, Protestant, Fell VoicesLoss.

When last year’s festival came to an end, I was desperately hoping for a another such event (and I was not alone). Well, early this morning I received word that Gilead Media Music Festival 2014 was locked and loaded. Check out the official announcement here.

Dark Angel to reunite for next year’s Keep It True festival

Posted by Metal Dude on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 7:51 AM (PST)

dark angelL.A. thrash metal legends Dark Angel have announced that they will reunite for at least one performance at the Keep It True XVII festival, which will take place at Tauberfrankenhalle in Lauda-Königshofen, Germany on April 25-26, 2014. This will be the band’s first show with original vocalist Don Doty since his departure in 1987. Also participating in the reunion are drummer Gene Hoglan, guitarists Eric Meyer and Justin Zych, and bassist Mike Gonzalez.

About the reunion, Doty told Uwe Harms of Germany’s Radio Gehacktes, “I’d like to give the band another chance to see how we used to do it. I have pretty much assembled everybody. It is going to happen. Mike is still playing with one or two other bands, just as Gene is, but they’re gonna go ahead and reschedule with the other bands so they can fit Dark Angel in. Dark Angel will come first. Gene is quite busy, as we all know, and he does have a lot of things going on [including Testament and Dethklok], but seeing this opportunity, he definitely wants to be on board, and he’s very excited about this, as I am.”

He also talked about the future of the band, stating, “We started to book some shows. I’m still waiting for our manager, Rob, to go ahead and see what he has in store for us. We’re gonna take it one step at a time. [In addition to the Keep It True], there’s gonna be a few other [dates] that are gonna be happening; I can’t really release those yet.”

You can listen to the rest of the interview here.

Dark Angel first split up in 1992 and were last active from 2002 to 2005, when they went on hiatus due to vocalist Ron Rinehart’s health problems. Their last record, Time Does Not Heal, was released in 1991.

Posted by Metal Dude on Friday, August 9, 2013 at 4:21 PM (PST)

It’s been more than exactly two years since Rage Against the Machine played their last show, but now, there have been reports that the band is returning for next year’s L.A. Rising, which is set to take place next August. It’s unclear at this time whether those reports are rumors or actual plans, but we’ll keep you updated.

Although they reunited back in 2007, Rage Against the Machine haven’t released any new material since 1999’s The Battle of Los Angeles. Their most recent recording is the covers album Renegades, which was released in 2000, the same year they broke up.

Summer Slaughter Tour Line Up Announced

Posted by NichTheHair on Friday, March 22, 2013 at 12:15 PM (PST)

599614_502962246408433_494654365_nThe line up for the annual Summer Slaughter Tour was announced today and it is fierce. The Dillinger Escape Plan headlines the show, with direct support from Animals As Leaders, Periphery, and Norma Jean. There’s also four more bands, making this tour even more insanely aggressive. Cattle Decapitation, The Ocean, Revocation, and Aeon will round out the roster.

There’s still another being added, by way of a fan voting process. So we now have a nine band touring tornado on the precipice of destroying every city it touches down in. Sumer Slaughter indeed. No dates have been announced yet and we will surely have more on that later.

Go vote for the opening band here, maybe vote for Abiotic. or Vektor. Tough call.
