Pallbearer celebrate the release of the much awaited Forgotten Days record with a making of video that shares behind the scenes stories from the brooding and revelation-filled fourth album. With this release the Arkansas band cement their status as one of the strongest leaders and most important acts in not just modern metal but also rock in general.

“It’s been inspiring creatively, I think we’ve written so much more material over the past year than ever before,” bass player/songwriter Joseph D. Rowland explains in the first moments of the interview. “We were able to really let some of the lyrics develop earlier in the process than we have in the past. We were able to really focus in on ideas, develop riffs, with lyrical patterns in mind, themes in mind… this time there was so much more opportunity to tightly hone in on those things.”

The Randall Dunn (Sunn O))), Earth, Johan Johannson) produced album was recorded at Sonic Ranch Studios in West Texas. Forgotten Days (https://www.pallbearerdoom.com/forgotten-days) is available in a number of limited edition vinyl variants with physical bundles available via both the Nuclear Blast and Pallbearer webstores, as well as digitally and on CD/cassette.

Crank it.

Pallbearer continue North American tour

Posted by Morgan Y Evans - Walking Bombs on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at 12:31 PM (PST)
Melodic doom merchants Pallbearer are sure to be on many a year end list for Heartless and are currently marching forward into the next portion of their North American 2017 tour. Like some of the later Isis releases, Heartless shows the band able to grow in style while still retaining elements that made them special thus far.
“Instead of staring into to the void—both above and within—Heartless concentrates its power on a grim reality,” the band explains. “Our lives, our homes and our world are all plumbing the depths of utter darkness, as we seek to find any shred of hope we can.”

And a phenomenal year of metal continues through the month of February. Well, my fellow heathens and cretins, this was another month where I’m literally sweating over my top picks for the month.
