January wrap-up: The 4 best albums of the month (Jessica)

Posted by longhairedpoet on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at 9:17 PM (PST)

I’ve kind of tried to make extra effort since the start of the new year to keep up listening to the latest albums as they come out (I’m fortunate enough to have a Google Play Music account and I use it profusely).

Since I’ve listened to so many new albums this month, I thought I’d share with you my four favorites.

Check the list out here.

Cane Hill premieres “It Follows” over at RevolverMag.com

Posted by longhairedpoet on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at 1:12 AM (PST)

Louisiana nu metallers Cane Hill have released their newest track “It Follows” via RevolverMag.com.

“It Follows” comes off the band’s forthcoming album Too Far Gone due out January 19 via Rise Records.

About “It Follows”, singer Elijah Witt told Revolver, “This was a really fun song to write and it probably took us the longest. It’s heavy and catchy all at once. We were trying to go for full on ‘metal epic’ without over-reaching and I think we did just that.”

Cane Hill will be hitting the road soon to tour with Of Mice & Men, Blessthefall and Fire From the Gods.

Check out “It Follows” as well as other recent Cane Hill tracks and the band’s upcoming tour dates here.

Of Mice & Men regrets to announce that the remaining dates of the ‘Full Circle Tour’ will be cancelled. Therefore, tonight’s show at Soma in San Diego and Tuesday’s show at El Plaza Condesa in Mexico City will no longer go ahead. Lead singer Austin Carlile was admitted to a hospital yesterday morning and per doctor’s orders has been kept in overnight for evaluation. The band regrets not being able to perform for their fans and hopes to be back in both cities as soon as possible. Refunds for both shows will be available at point of purchase, however Of Mice & Men are planning to reschedule both shows for a later date in the year. We will have more news on this in the the coming weeks and tickets holders are welcome to retain their tickets, as they will remain valid for these rescheduled dates.”

Speedy recovery, hombre.

Of Mice And Men lead singer has to cut set short due to ear issues

Posted by SeanB on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at 3:49 PM (PST)

ofmiceandmenAustin Carlisle, the lead singer of Southern Cali metalcore band Of Mice And Men, (and formerly of Attack Attack!) has released a statement to fans via Twitter for having to shorten a set the other night.  As fans will know, Austin is deaf in one ear and for some reason something in the monitors ruptured his other ear (I think) so he was unable to finish his set.  This sounds absolutely horrifying and we’re all hoping for the best and waiting for updates.

To read comments from Austin click here.

Of Mice And Men’s last release was 2011’s The Flood on Rise Records.  They recently released a music video for the song “The Depths” which you can find by clicking right here.
