Saigon Kick to announce first reunion shows “any day now”

Posted by Metal Dude on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 2:01 PM (PST)

Saigon Kick, who announced that they were reuniting last September, have announced that they will announce dates for their reunion tour “any day now”. Frontman Matt Kramer writes:

“So, 21 years ago I quit my band and hopped into a time machine headed into the unknown. Pretty wild landing here with new Saigon Kick dates being announced any day now for the first time since 1992. Be in touch…”

The lineup for the upcoming reunion tour is the original, which consisted of Matt Kramer (vocals), Phil Varone (drums), Jason Bieler (guitar) and Tom Defile (bass).

There has been no indication whether or not the reunion will lead to recording a new studio album, which would have been the follow-up to 1999’s Bastards. However, we’ll keep our fingers crossed for any new material.

Saigon Kick, a band that was acclaimed back in the ’90s, are reuniting for some shows with their original lineup, which consists of Matt Kramer (vocals), Phil Varone (drums), Jason Bieler (guitar) andTom Defile (bass). Their onetime bassist Chris McLernon will also be part of the reunion, this time as a rhythm guitarist.

About the reunion, Kramer comments:

“A 20-year lapse has finally come to an end. Saigon Kick will be reuniting with all original members for a few shows this fall. Let’s see if we can even make it past the first rehearsal.”

There has been no indication whether or not the reunion will lead to recording a new studio album, which would have been the follow-up to 1999’s Bastards. However, we’ll keep our fingers crossed for any new material or more shows.
