Demon Lung are back, bigger and better in every way. Their previous output was good but A Dracula truly crushes. “Behold, The Daughter” is one of the most insistent marches in ages, like an earthquake wrestling with classic metal and doom riffs (plus a deadly Billy Anderson mix). Fans of the horror themed The Eye record of King Diamond will dig the devilish plot within these 8 songs, while the music could please the snobbiest echelon of hipsters and the more traditional stoner/doom crowd in one savage blow. This is perhaps the most low end of an Anderson produced release since his classic Melvins or more recent Brothers Of The Sonic Cloth work.

“My body is a graveyard and I am haunted,” sings Shanda Fredrick, and the effect is utterly convincing bluesy horror soul.

Demon Lung premiere ‘Heathen Child’

Demon-Lung Las Vegas doom metallers Demon Lung have premiered “Heathen Child” off of their forthcoming Candlelight Records release The Hundredth Name, which is expected to be released on June 4.

Drummer Jeremy Brenton had this to say about “Heathen Child”:

“‘Heathen Child’ is the fifth track on the record and is definitely one of our favorites to play live. We got the gnarliest guitar tone at the end of that song. It’s the part of the story where our hero, the warlock, kills an unbaptized male child in order to make a flying potion from his fat. Don’t try this at home, especially without a sharp knife.”

Stream “Heathen Child” via Pitchfork.
