Posted by SeanB on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at 6:28 AM (PST)

British metal band Malefice have just released a video for a song they recently collaborated on with football player Marcus Hahnemann.  The collaboration was part of the Jägermeister “Ice Cold” studio sessions where bands are teamed up with cultural icons to work on music.  You can see the video for “Omega” by clicking here.

Hahnemann is a U.S. international goalkeeper who is currently playing for Everton and a known fan of everything metal.  He recently had this to say about the experience:

“[It was] a great day. I wanted to come down and just see what recording would be like, piecing a track together. I had an awesome time.”

Malefice vocalist Dale Butler later added:

“[The session went] really well. It exceeded expectations. We knew Marcus was going to be good, but he was actually better than even he firstly anticipated.”

Malefice’s most current album Awaken The Tides was released in July 2011 via Metal Blade Records.

Frontman Dale Butler had this to say “And so the time has finally come, we’ve been locked away for 6 months working on this record, a release that’s going to take your fucking head off. We promised something different, a bigger production, and a slightly different look on the genre. We’ve found our sound and it’s going to bring a whole new level to our live show, something we all felt was missing. We’ve come back a new band, confidant and more of a unit than we’ve ever been. This is our next step; make sure you’re around to see it!”
