Oakland-based sextet, Secrets Of The Sky,will begin their next West Coast trek in just one week, followed by another tour of the coast just several weeks later.
First up, Secrets of The Sky will head out on a headlining voyage next Friday, March 28th, with a week-and-a-half of shows confirmed throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Utah, Colorado and across their native California through the second week of April.
Secrets Of The Sky‘s upcoming West Coast tour with Godhunter was also announced earlier this week. On June 6th and 7th the two acts will rendezvous at the annual Doom In June Fest in Las Vegas, both set to perform amidst the lineup including Novembers Doom, Christian Mistress, Acid Witch, Ides of Gemini, Demon Lung and more. From there they’ll co-headline a course through Oakland, San Luis Obispo, Glendale, Palm Desert, Tucson and Phoenix. A special collaborative release from both bands is presently being finalized to be sold on this tour, with full details to be announced in the coming days.
The six-member crew has also been busy raking in new endorsements over recent weeks in efforts to continually re-maximize their massive auditory delivery, and recent sponsorships from Spector Basses, Dean Markley Strings, Eventide effect pedals and Pigtronix effect pedals have all been sanctioned.
Italian label, Kolony Records, released To Sail Black Waters worldwide in October, exposing the planet to the band’s expansive, powerhouse style of fusing progressive elements into their crushing doom metal foundation. Three of the band’s six members each contribute with multiple instruments, layering synth/keys, violins and an array of vocal styles atop the crushing rhythm section and massive triple guitar attack, resulting in a dense and stunning forty-one minute opus. Bulldozing over doom, death, black, prog and post-metal genre boundaries, the expansive power of To Sail Black Waters was recorded over an eight month period of recording sessions at Trident Studios with engineer/producer Juan Urteaga (Testament, Machine Head, Cattle Decapitation), and appeared on over a dozen best of 2013 lists including Decibel, MetalSucks, Metal Injection, Metal Insider and more.
