Asking Alexandria release ‘The Violence’ Sikdope remix with video

Posted by Morgan Ywain Evans on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at 12:50 PM (PST)

EDM DJ Sikdope has done a pretty cool remix for “The Violence” by Asking Alexandria.

Speaking on his bombastic remix of Asking Alexandria’s latest arena-filling anthem, Sikdope says:
“I’ve been a fan of Asking Alexandria for as long as I can remember. They’re also great friends of mine, so of course I was thrilled when they asked me to remix “The Violence” (also one of my favorite tracks this year). I sang in a rock band as a teenager so remixing this track felt like second nature to me; I got to go back to my roots but also showcase the evolution of my sound. This remix feels like such an accomplishment for me because when I was in a band as a kid, my dream was to have a release on Sumerian… now I’m on it as a DJ.”
Adding to this, Asking Alexandria guitarist, Ben Bruce says
“I’m a firm believer that the best collaborations come from when artists come together through a true and real connection. A great collaboration can’t be forced, they are born from a mutual respect and passion. In this case Sikdope and myself had been friends and mutual fans of each other’s work for many years prior to this collaboration. We went out for dinner one night and decided, spur of the moment, to collaborate! I’m so excited that we finally got to work together and through combined efforts have created such a MONSTER of a tune!”

Asking Alexandria release new track “The Violence”

Posted by longhairedpoet on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 4:59 PM (PST)

Earlier this week English rockers Asking Alexandria released their latest track “The Violence.”

Complete with a cheesy zombie movie music video that features the boys in the band, the track is the first new track since the band’s 2017 self-titled album.

The music video was written and directed by Jensen Noen and presented by Scissor Films and Sumerian Films. The video follow the plight of every day zombies: Cocaine Shane (Danny Worsnop), Peter (Ben Bruce), Disco Luke (Cameron Liddell), Phat Noah (James Cassells) and Waterboy Eric (Sam Bettley).

Says guitarist Ben Bruce:

“We are back bigger, better, louder and more insane than ever before. This single encompasses everything we have been working towards. Huge guitars, anthemic drums and some of the catchiest, most technically accomplished vocals that Danny has ever delivered, and this is only just the beginning.”

Worsnop adds:

“The Violence was an incredibly rewarding song to create. Ben and I both got to go way outside anything we’d done before and create something fresh and engaging. Thematically the song is about the way mainstream media and politicians manipulate and spread mistruth amongst the people to encourage and create anger, fear, division, and conflict in their quest to control and acquire power. As the history books have shown, this only goes so far before the people stand up and say enough is enough. I hope everyone enjoys what we’ve created here, we had a great time making it, and even more fun shooting the video!”

Asking Alexandria are headed out on the road later this month with Papa Roach and Bad Wolves on the “Who Do You Trust” US Summer Tour. Then in September Asking Alexandria will join Shinedown, Papa Roach, and Savage After Midnight on another North American tour.

Rockstar Energy Mayhem is always one of the funnest hard rock and metal fests around. They first and foremost treat press with respect and the PR team is great, plus the bands every year cover a pretty fair cross section of what heavy music is all about. This year was no exception and we sent our enthusiastic photographer Catharina Christiana to shoot the Saratoga Performing Arts Center date of the tour.

Peep exclusive pics of Korn, Islander, Wretched, Avenged Sevenfold and more! Heavy music is alive.
