Nile-what-should-not-be-unearthed

South Carolina death metal band Nile have released the track listing for their upcoming album What Should Not Be Unearthed.

The album will come out on August 28 via Nuclear Blast.

Vocalist Karl Sanders had this to say:

“The goal for the new record was sheer epic brutality. The focus this time around is on brutal heavy metal riffing and songwriting; kind of like of an ‘Annihilation Of The Wicked’ approach but very streamlined to achieve maximum destructive impact. So we believe that we have a truly crushing disc to bring to metal fans. Although ‘Unearthed’ is still full of the kind of undeniable musicianship people have come to expect from us over the years, it’s the songs themselves that will hit listeners over the head this time around.”

Video: Nile – “Enduring the Eternal Molestation of Flame”

Posted by tyrusrunyan on Friday, November 30, 2012 at 9:24 AM (PST)

South Carolina technical death metal band Nile have released a video for the song  “Enduring the Eternal Molestation of Flame” off of their 2012 release At the Gate of Sethu. At the Gates of Sethu is Nile’s seventh studio album and a follow up to the bands 2009  Those Whom the Gods Detest. The album was released in July via Nuclear Blast.

You can watch the video here.

The album’s producer and director Jon Simvonis commented:“It was truly an honor to direct the new Nile video; a band with so many diehard fans and such a strong impact in the metal scene, The video concept, as a matter of fact, was inspired by the culture and the ritual habits of the Ancient Nubia, a region along the Nile River, which is located in northern Sudan and Southern Egypt. The research and design elements of the video led to a really interesting combination of the Ancient Egyptian myths, through the prism of the Nubian African Voodoo Burial rituals. Two worlds set so close, yet so far from each other.”

Here’s yet another deft description of my darling and I’s many death metal date nights. The destination for this evening of ear-splitting enchantment was to be Irving Plaza in New York City, The Black Dahlia Murder, Nile, and Skeletonwitch our marks. Inside was deceptively small, but not overflowing with heads. We managed to navigate quite nicely through the various merch tables, though lacking a fair amount of brutality in the wears. As for the show, we arrived just in time for Skeletonwitch to take the stage thrusting me right into photo mode in front of the Garnette brothers. Bring it on.

A full debrief over the show and some shitty amazing pictures await you on the next page.
