Tampa, FL’s I Kept Silent might be baby faced, but they rock in a major way. The passion and actually decent songwriting of their 2013 debut EP Precession Of The Voyager deserves to be heard by a lot more people. Gene Simmons just declared rock dead and also recently said poor people never gave him a job. 1.) while trends come and go, hard rock and metal will always be there even if it doesn’t have the market share it once did. I Kept Silent are just one example of many bands who will keep it alive. 2.) Poor people bought all your albums, Gene. I love Kiss, but don’t forget the streets.

Tangent aside, I wanted to give IKS some shine while they are in a rebuilding phase, so I hit the band up and asked the Tempfer brothers Ryan and Andre about some of their biggest influences and best moments in the band so far (hint – they’ve already shared festivals with Alice In Chains and Rob Zombie).

With UK and European tours right around the corner, Florida metalcore band Underoath announces they will be without their keyboardist Chris Dudley. Chris remarked on the situation, …the long short of it is that me and my wife recently welcomed our 2nd daughter into the world. Her due date was drastically close to the beginning of this tour, so in talking to the rest of the dudes about it I decided that I need to sit this tour out to be at home with my family. With my wife recovering, my daughter not even out of the hospital yet and our 2 year old at home, it was the decision that had to be made.

Furthermore, Chris remarked that, along with the rest of the band, the decision was reached to use recordings of the keyboard on tour rather than to seek out a replacement, stating, I’ve talked to the everyone about it and there was no one that everyone felt comfortable with filling in for me. What we did is I got together with Tim and recorded all my parts, so I’m technically gonna be playing, I just won’t be there. It’s not my ideal situation, but we felt it would be the best thing to give you guys the best show possible.
