New York hard rock purveyors GET OUT. have premiered the official lyric video for their track, “Seven Heavens”, at New Noise Magazine. The track appears on the group’s debut full-length record Let Me In, which The Ring Master Review hails as having a “potent sound which gets straight to the point without distracting frills and a commandingly solid release providing increasingly thickening enjoyment.” Vocalist Morgan Y. Evans says of the new track:

“Here is our first ever lyric video. It is for “Seven Heavens” a song about hoping for peace or the possibility to salvage unity in the face of aggression, Aiming for less conflict and better communication in an often cutthroat world. Remembering that all of our time is valuable and to value what other people bring to the table/scene. Not letting disrespectful people slow you down. The video was done by Spinkickproductions.com. That company does a lot of cool metalcore and rap videos. Plus they are an hour away in the Troy/Albany area so it was cool to hire someone in the wider regional Upstate, NY scene. We all have to support one another to make this framework of the underground grow and retain strength.”

GET OUT. tease “War Chest” EP and guests, part ways with drummer.

Kingston , NY metal/hard rock band GET OUT. have parted ways with their drummer. Fill-ins have been selected for the next few
shows as the band chooses a replacement and moves forward on their next EP, to be entitled War Chest.

GET OUT. recently released debut Let Me In via Bandcamp, iTunes and other digital platforms after first debuting two songs on Metalriot.com‘s Creature Honeymoon 2015 Halloween compilation alongside bands such as Geezer, Night Viper, Septa and Tyrant Of Death.

Says vocalist/writer Morgan Ywain Evans:

“Moving forward we are expanding to some heavier territory while still including some of the rock elements already displayed. The drummer we fired is busy with his career and, to keep it civil, we felt there wasn’t enough urgency for the band. As a result of letting him engineer most of us felt the completion of the album took months longer than expected. There was even some lost enthusiasm and people who didn’t even show up on mix day when it finally arrived. Obviously no active band can really function well on that kind of dragged out clock.”

Evans continues: “That said, we wish him good luck. While we might not survive as long, we admire how the band Shai Hulud or even Murphy’s Law adapted with various line ups to challenges yet nonetheless kept momentum going and overcame obstacles. We are currently testing out various candidates on drums and second guitar, as ex-guitarist Jeremy Swift also is out of the band due to injury and being more focused on his blues funk/ power pop band The Beautiful Bastards. But we are completely fine. Our next EP War Chest will showcase our soon to be much heavier side to go with the more alternative rock, hard rock and stoner influences on Let Me In. We have some material written already and it rips absolute ass.”

Guests have not been confirmed for the next EP but expect full details next month. The guests are rumored to include heavy hitters Paul “Ablaze” of Blackguard, metalcore legend Mike Score of All Out War and more TBA.

As with Let Me In, art for War Chest will be once again handled by Chris Smith of Grey Aria Design (Hollow Earth, Vulture, Black Yo)))ga).

It’s not every day in this world that you get to work with someone who is genuine, honest, and just damn likable. In my time here at Metal Riot I’ve got to know fellow team member Morgan and he’s gotten to know me – and it’s been just absolutely fucking awesome.

When I finally came out to Morgan as a transgender woman, and he told me he was bisexual, we were really able to riff about the way being queer in this scene affects a person. When Morgan’s new hard rock/metal band GET OUT. released their debut album Let Me In  I knew I wanted after the first listen that I had to talk to Morgan more about the album, and all of the meaning behind it. Out of that came this interview – and another great chance for Morgan and myself to keep and build on the momentum we’re bringing to you – the readers – here at Metal Riot! \mm/

The thunderous new single from Kingston, NY-based riff conjurers GET OUT. is now available for public consumption exclusively at Nefarious Realm.

“Moon Harvest” is the name of the new stoner-laced rock tune and it churns out enough buzzing, burly riffs to level entire cities within its short four-minute duration.

“Our song “Moon Harvest” was inspired by when Apocalypse from X-Men had a lunar base,” says vocalist Morgan Y. Evans. “I was thinking about how cool that was and the current world problems of no one with differing opinions able to have rational debate. How being neighborly is a thing of the past, it seems. How it would be nice to just relocate to the moon and smoke weed. But what if even then people came and tried to harvest everyone’s souls in some giant, evil fun sucking religious machine. You know, everyday life stuff.”

Guitarist Ryan Rios adds,” tracking “Moon Harvest” in the studio on my Sunn rig of fifteen years was enjoyable . And now live I have a new soldano rig  paired with a Strymon pedal which has helped add more dynamics to the intro and overall song.” The art for the single is by Chris Smith of Grey Aria Design, who also did the Let Me In album cover. It is featured on a limited T-shirt run available at upcoming shows, printed up by Jeff Wilson from Abigail Williams and hot off the screen.

Halloween is almost upon us. It is likely you have seen candy corny decorations and foam spiders or skeletons, ghouls and goblins littering lawns or the odd cool graveyard with grim reaper in your neighborhood. But you have not had an experience quite like our CREATURE HONEYMOON comp.

Every week we have been revealing songs about or inspire by monsters and/or darkness from bands around the globe (and a batch from my own hometown of Kingston, NY). A wide variety of styles have been included, ripping themselves up from the underground to thrill and kill.

The full comp will be out on Halloween but at this point the majority of the record has been released. This week’s two additions include my band GET OUT‘s tribute to True Blood , nightlife vampirism and my own struggles beating alcohol and depression. It’s called “Bloody Marys” and first debuted via the O + Festival a few week ago. The song was influenced musically by stuff like Life Of Agony, Diablo Blvd., The Cult…you get the idea.

The other track added this week is an amazing cosmic dread inspired one time team up between psych doomers It’s Not Night : It’s Space and the mighty face frying Acid Roach! Dudes jammed out for over ten minutes to create this powerful spell of Lovecraft meets Terence McKenna inspired completely awe inducing number “True Hallucinations”. It engulfs you like staring into the dark heavens. Super thrilled to have this song on the comp.

Check these songs and already released tracks from Night Viper, Shadow Witch, Tiger Piss and more on our Metal Riot Bandcamp page HERE!

Alien weed mummies, more zombies, wolverines, tiger pee and a love of darkness define Metal Riot’s 2nd week countdown to Halloween as we reveal 4 more songs from October’s METAL RIOT CREATURE HONEYMOON comp HERE.

Punk band Tiger Piss feat. Lara Hope deliver a ten year anniversary look back at their first underground hit “Zombie Slave” (technically about a sex zombie rather than the undead).Svart Records artists Night Viper from Gothenburg (featuring Horisant’s Tom Sutton) blaze forward with the classic heavy metal sound of “The Wolverine”. Tyrant Of Death delivers a one man industrial metal/harsh noise hymn to those who love darkness. And last but not least my own band GET OUT. reveal the second song from our pending debut LET ME IN, a tune called “Scarab Of Green” that is both a tribute to Dio’s “Egypt (The Chains Are On)” and a cursed tale about an angry stoner mummy who is pissed he was disturbed from his trapped bong cloud eternal sleep beneath the sands by looters.

Thus far seven tracks have been revealed, about half of the comp. Stay tuned each week for more songs leading up to Halloween!

GET OUT. reveal “Let Me In” debut album cover art by Chris Smith

Kingston, NY’s GET OUT. have revealed the cover art for their pending debut record Let Me In via their bandcamp page. The artwork was done by scene stalwart Chris Smith of Gray Aria Design who most recently did the Black Yo)))ga Music For Asanas Ritual vol. 1 artwork. It was intended to capture the variety of influences, from dark rock to stoner rock to metalcore and punkified thrash in the band’s sound.

The first single from Let Me In is called “Bloody Marys” , a sort of later period Life Of Agony meets STP hard rock influenced number. The full tracklisting will be announced soon and GET OUT. is also on Metal Riot’s Creature Honeymoon compilation, out in full on Halloween.

No official release date yet for Let Me In has been announced.

“Chris has always been very cool and a great illustrator or designer,” says vocalist/music journalist Morgan Y. Evans. “He did some art for a few other bands I have been in and when I heard how moody some of our songs were becoming, I knew he was a great choice to ask again. We’ve got a cool t-shirt design he did coming and he also did our band logo. Despite the tragedy surrounding the band Enabler, I am a huge fan of the art Chris did for them while Amanda was still in that band as well as the killer poster art Chris has done for everyone from The Atlas Moth to Ken Mode and Lo Pan.”

Song Premiere: GET OUT.’s “Bloody Marys” revealed via the O+ Festival

PREMIERE: Kingston-based band GET OUT., who straddle the genres of hard rock, metal, alternative and punk, are premiering “Bloody Marys” from their pending first album LET ME IN on the O+ Festival Web site:http://opositivefestival.org/kingston/musicians/get-out/

“It’s a health, nightlife and creativity-related song, seeing as how it is about struggles with alcoholism as well as kind of about binge watching ‘True Blood’,” says vocalist (and music journalist) Morgan Ywain Evans. “Being a starving artist or an insomniac and culture enthusiast is sort of similar to being a vampire in that you find yourself in a lot of odd situations.”

O+ Festival is dedicated to the exchange of health and wellness services for works of art and musical performances. Chapters of O+, which was founded in Kingston, N.Y. in 2010, host weekend-long annual art and music events during which participating artists and musicians exhibit their talents in exchange for access to health and wellness services from art-loving providers. This year’s October 9-11th running Kingston Festival will feature Prince Rama, GET OUT., Corey Glover of Living Colour, Screaming Females, Clover and more for a total of 60+ bands!
