After a strong finish on a series of tour dates across the UK and Central Europe alongside heavy-hitters’ Meshuggah and Arch Enemy respectively, Swedish thrash metallers’ THE HAUNTED have been busy completing the recording and mixing process of their upcoming, 9th studio album effort. Recorded at Parlour Studios in the UK with producer Russ Russell (Napalm Death, Dimmu Borgir, The Exploited), the album is entitled Strength In Numbers and will be released worldwide via Century Media Records on August 25, 2017.

THE HAUNTED‘s guitarist Ola Englund has checked in with the following comment:“Working on “Strength In Numbers” with Russ Russell as an engineer and producer has been an incredible experience. His attitude and positivity has helped us to truly do our best when recording. He’s just a killer guy to be around!”, before adding:“All the tracking for the album has been completed and Russ is right in the middle of mixing and mastering it. And from the early mixes I’ve heard, it’s shaping up to be insanely heavy. No clean singing, no banjo, no pickup trucks…so fans of country music are gonna hate it, haha! Seriously: Heads are gonna roll. In a good way…”

Let the debate begin!

Ever since 3/5ths of The Haunted left the band a year or so back the future of the much liked Swedish metal band was up in the air.

Grabbing Six Feet Under’s Ola Englund (great choice/fucking killer player) on guitar along with former Made Me Do It-era vocalist Marco Aro and early drummer Adrian Erlandsson (At the Gates), Patrik Jensen and Jonas Björler saved the band from desolation.

Now for the music.

Singer Peter Dolving quits The Haunted

Posted by tyrusrunyan on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 8:53 AM (PST)

It would appear that Swedish death metal band The Haunted will be looking for a new lead singer as their frontman Peter Dolving released the following cryptic statement “explaining” his departure just a short while ago:

“I am officially quitting The Haunted. After years of working with the band, I am out. I have had it. I will not answer questions to why. It’s no one elses business. Thank you very much. I am looking forward to seeing you people at other shows with other projects.”

The Haunting followed up with this comment a few hours later confirming what Peter had stated:

Peter has decided to leave The Haunted permanently.
We don’t have any more news or info for you regarding this at the moment,
but stay tuned for future updates…

We just wanted to put and end to all the rumors out there.

Peter has quit the band before in 1998 only to rejoin them 5 years later in 2003 so only time will tell how this story unfolds.
