Welcome to Tuesday’s Titanic Treasonous Tidbits. I am not talking about Jack and Rose or even Conald here, but awesome rock n roll news you need in order to live a fuller, richer life. Today we have some groovy spooky post punk, some CKY hard rock action and a little Warped Tour related band of interest for you ghouls. It isn’t our heaviest of posts, but it still rocks with the most.

Ok, first up is just a heads up that post punk artistes Wax Idols return to the road today in support of newest opus Happy Ending This band deserves stans to flicker about them in awe (while dramatic music plays) like the little cave bats enveloping Christian Bale. They are not metal but we have a punk category in our drop down menu and the band’s unflinching attitude, uncompromising vision, miles of style and ability to blend gallow’s humor with an actual desire for things to be better out there is punk af in our book.

Hard rock hesher heroes CKY (Chad I Ginsburg, Jess Margera and Matt Deis) have released a brand new music video for their track, “Wiping Off The Dead” from their most recent LP,The Phoenix. Directed by Dave Causa, this is the third music video we’ve seen from the band off their current release.

“Our good friend Dave Causa filmed us rehearsing for our UK tour last summer and the end result was us making a badass music video,” says drummer Jess Margera. “It was filmed before we ever played a single show for the release of our album. Thank you, Dave, and thank you CKY alliance! Enjoy this great video from the archives.”

CKY is headed back out on the road this summer on a co-headlining run with SLAVES and additional support coming from the incredible Royal Thunder and the buzz building Awaken I Am. Tickets and a limited number of VIP meet and greet packages are available now. VIP packages will include meet and greets, exclusive merch items, autographs and more. The band will also be doing highlighted performances on select festival dates such as Lollapalooza, Sturgis bike rally, Psycho Las Vegas, and Blue Ridge Rockfest!

CKY released The Phoenix last summer via Entertainment One (eOne). The all-new LP is the first release since the band put out Carver City in 2009. The album was engineered and mixed at Rancho De La Luna, the highly regarded recording studio in Joshua Tree, CA.

Toronto-based alternative rock band SELFISH THINGS have released a video for their song “Hangman,” a cut from their EP Vertical Love which was released earlier this year The video was released HERE, and can be watched below:

When asked about the video, frontman Alex Biro said that “We were a month and a half into tour (hence me looking so fucking tired) and ended up driving back to Cleveland after our show in Columbus to knock out the video. The director and his team had scouted a pretty desolate, blown out, old tire factory in a particularly rundown part of the city, which really fit well aesthetically with the overall concept of the song. We wanted to focus on iconographic elements that amplified the message while still trying play to the lyrics (the hanging hearts, for example). I hope people enjoy it more than I did making it – don’t sit in a coffin with nightcrawler’s.”

Keep up the sweet jams, dudes. I love the chunky guitar tones, emo-esque hooks and the group’s give it your all energy. The vocals remind me of Blink and The Sleeping kind of eloping with Taking Back Sunday.

The release of the “Hangman”  video comes right before a busy touring schedule for the band kicks off this summer. In addition to supporting The Spill Canvas from July 26-August 11, they will also be playing Warped Tour July 17 at The Flats at Budweiser Stage on The Lemmon Stage.
