Majestic Phenomenon: Cast The Stone, Euringer, Black Tusk news

Little Jimmy got lost in the arcade on the way to New Zealand!

Hey y’all. Monday blues here and am thankful for the good stuff in life but also feeling a little burnt out and it is only the first day of the week. Man, been watching The 100 and I am about ready to take the chip and join A.L.I.E.’S Cult.

Before we head to the City Of Light y’all we gotta get deep into some cray cray music news.

Cast The Stone (Misery Index, ex-Cattle Decapitation, Scour) have released the “A Plague Of Light” lyric video. The song is taken from the new album Empyrean Atrophy. This and some more new Void Ritual (we’re not worthy!) oughta be enough to shake out or encourage all the demons you need to deal with to kick start your week or the Apocalypse. Everything from this release has been monstrously ass crushing so far and we are here for it!

Mindless Self Indulgence ringmaster Jimmy Urine is a great dude. He’s always been very cool in person and a fun guy to talk to or of course see demolish a crowd. The satirical yet actually deeper than you would think on the surface message of MSI is sorely needed in the current climate of lack of critical thinking out there. Now Jimmy is back with a new record under the name EURINGER. The record is due Oct. 19th via the great Metropolis Records and features guest spots from Grimes, Gerard Way, Serj Tankian and Chantel Claret. Jimmy even finds time to cover Kate Bush and The Doobie Brothers. Doobies…underrated style icons. And Kate! Jimmy, have you been reading my mind? I was just super stoned and driving Globelamp’s car last night listening to “Wuthering Heights” at 11pm trying to remember to auto deposit a check to go pay my storage space bill. Probably a coincidence.

”Mathematically speaking I am breaking time into pieces of distance and moving through them diagonally at a rapid rate,” says Jimmy. “Naaaahh, I am just fucking with you. I just drank a whole bottle of Southern Comfort and wrote this album. A hallucination, a proclamation, a degradation? Or maybe its all just all a pile of bullshit I made up to stay relevant. Either way, I am right behind you.“

The surviving heroes of Black Tusk have a new record and even deeper sense of purpose. The Savannah riff pirates are streaming another new track off their forthcoming album ‘T.C.B.T.’ The ripper titled “Closed Eye” is streaming now via Blabbermouth.

BLACK TUSK have kicked off their previously announced North American headline tour. The first ‘TCBT’ dates includes stops at Heavy Mountain Festival, RPM Fest, and more. BLACK TUSK are joined by WHORES and WHITE NAILS on select dates. A full list of confirmed shows can be found below.

Cast The Stone prepare to release ‘Empyrean Atrophy’ EP

Posted by longhairedpoet on Monday, June 4, 2018 at 2:21 AM (PST)

St. Louis metallers Cast The Stone are preparing to release their latest EP Empyrean Atrophy.

Empyrean Atrophy will be released on August 31 via Agonia Records.

Cast The Stone is Mark Kloeppel (Misery Index, Scour), Derek Engemann (ex-Cattle Decapitation, Scour), Jesse Schobel (Legend, ex-Scour) and vocalist Andy Huskey.

The cover art for Empyrean Atrophy was done by Gary Ronaldson of Bite Radius Designs (Primordial, Kreator, Napalm Death).

Guitarist Mark Kloeppel commented:

“The band’s sound is a testament to an enduring spirit thats driven us to return to our most organic influences, merge them together, incorporate disparate elements, and forge our own sound. Each person has a distinct sound unto themselves, so it’s really cool how smooth and cohesive this stuff comes across. You can immediately hear how different this is from the other things we’ve been involved in, yet it’s still very true to our individual styles. Our bassist Derek progressively weaves my guitars and Jesse’s uber-creative drumming style together in a way that only he can. This is all crowned off by Andy Huskey’s crazy death metal vocals which are… well, just listen.”

The first single for Empyrean Atrophy is due June 7.
